Who you are

You have start-up DNA: You have demonstrated an ability to thrive in the ambiguity of a dynamic, start-up environment or have the DNA to do so

You have software development skills, preferably in Python or Go
You are experienced with developing in a public cloud environment
You are experienced with Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes
You are experienced with building, scaling, and maintaining production systems
You possess a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field or 3+ years of equivalent experience

You have cloud/hybrid networking experience
You have software architecture experience
You have experience in deploying and managing large distributed applications (e.g. with Kubernetes and ArgoCD)
You have experience designing and building observability systems

What the job involves

We are looking for a Software Engineer (Cloud Infrastructure) to join Nuro's growing Infrastructure team
Collaborate and work cross-functionally amongst teams are Nuro to align on customer needs
Build high-quality and scalable solutions for infrastructure-as-code, application deployment, production system monitoring, health status tracking, and performance improvements
Build automation to improve developer experience, infrastructure reliability, and security

Our take

Nuro offers custom-built autonomous vehicles for the delivery of physical goods, rather than people. Its vehicles have a distinctive, futuristic, design that has not only made the vehicles noticeable from a marketing point of view, but, has also made its vehicles stand out to other road users, improving safety.

Nuro is an exciting addition to the autonomous vehicle landscape. Without a passenger inside the vehicle, it has been able to sidestep some of the safety issues that have plagued other autonomous vehicle brands. Additionally, the company has landed several high-profile partners, including Uber, Walmart, Chipotle, and Kroger.

With home deliveries at an all-time high, many companies are looking for ways to get goods to customers’ homes as fast as possible. Low-cost, efficient services such as Nuro's offering are becoming increasingly attractive. The company is turning its focus to commercializing and scaling the production of its third-generation vehicle at a new facility in Southern Nevada as it hopes to expand its services across the US.
