Role
Who you are
- Experience: we’re not expecting someone to have launched businesses in the Caribbean before but you’ll have worked for five years in high-growth companies, within hospitality and tourism or fast-paced operational roles.
- Energy: you’ll have the support of an experienced team and local staff but you’ll be responsible for finding creative solutions to complex challenges in (sometimes) resource-constrained environments.
- Communication: we need a strong and effective communicator. You’ll need to be able to flex your communication style to deliver feedback to local staff, manage the relationship with independent contractors and engage with HNW individuals.
- Cultural Acuity: ideally you’d have spent time living and working abroad with experience in the Caribbean or similar island/emerging markets a significant advantage. You’ll instinctively understand and respect local ways of working and how to make things happen.
What the job involves
- The Expansion Launch Manager will be the critical link between our ambitious global strategy and successful local execution. As we expand into new markets, we’ll need to hit the ground running. Delivering great guest experience, delivering strong returns for property owners and seeking out new growth opportunities.
- This role requires a high level of adaptability, flexibility, energy and bias for action. You’ll often be required to travel to the Caribbean. You'll need to quickly grasp the nuances of each island to make a success of the launch of each new market. This is a challenging role that requires resilience, cultural acuity and independence.
- Drive Standards: act as the direct conduit between local teams and our HQ, ensuring all new properties are launched and operated in accordance with Bocobay’s high standards of hospitality and property care.
- Communication: you’ll be our eyes and ears on-the-ground. You’ll simplify local complexities to engage the effective support of global teams and reiterate key messaging to local teams.
- Process Improvements: identify bottlenecks and gaps in our processes. Suggest improvements and work with global teams to refine the global launch playbook for future markets.
- Inventory Acquisition: actively explore, convert and secure new commercial partnerships with real estate owners, developers and realtors to drive rapid inventory growth in locally relevant, scalable ways.
- Market Intelligence: understand the local market dynamics, get a handle on competitors, establish relationships with suppliers and be relentlessly focused on opportunities to drive down operating costs.
- Owner Relations: you’ll be crucial in managing the early-stage relationships with owners and commercial partners.
