Role
Who you are
- 12 months or more experience as a Business Analyst working closely with software developers in a data-driven or technical product environment - ideally in analytics, forecasting or internal tools
- 12 months or more developing understanding of system analysis, software development lifecycle and data structures
- At least 12 months experience with excel with a working understanding of SQL. Familiarity with documentation and collaboration tools such as JIRA and Confluence, and experience using process mapping platforms /tools
- Proven verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly
- Ability to independently and manage multiple priorities in fast-paced setting
- Awareness of software engineering concepts and development practices

Desirable
- A background in finance or hands on experience with finance systems such as TM1, SAP and Oracle

What the job involves
- Join the Retail Finance Change team as a Technical Business Analyst, bridging Finance stakeholders and developers to deliver data-led change. You’ll capture requirements, translate them into clear technical specifications (including for Python-based automation), and support delivery through testing and rollout, using strong analysis and communication skills plus Excel and working knowledge of SQL
- You'll work closely with people across Retail Finance to gather and translate requirements and support the development of Python based models and automation tools that drive operational efficiency and control
- Act as a liaison between Finance teams and developers to ensure alignment and clarity throughout delivery
- Collaborate with business units to gather, document & validate functional and technical requirements
- Translate business needs into clear technical specifications for development teams
- Work closely with developers to translate business needs into clear, actionable specifications, particularly for Python-based tools and models
- Analyse existing systems and processes to identify areas for improvement and automation
- Create and maintain high-quality documentation including process maps, data dictionaries, project scopes and technical specifications
- Co-ordinate the timely delivery of governance related activities and ensure compliance with internal standards and documentation requirements
- Facilitate workshops, meetings and presentation to communicate findings and recommendations
- Support full project lifecycle, including user acceptance testing (UAT), training and post-implementation reviews
- Support project delivery by coordinating with developers, testers and business users
