Role
Who you are
- 8+ years of experience across corporate finance, FP&A, strategic finance, or related roles, including at least 5 years in corporate/strategic finance at a high-growth B2B technology or SaaS company
- 2+ years of people management experience, building and leading high-performing teams
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with modern FP&A tools
- Exceptional storyteller, capable of distilling complex analyses into strategic insights for executive and board audiences with clarity and precision; ability to influence across all levels without direct authority
- A collaborative, proactive, curious, and growth mindset with a passion for problem solving and driving impact
- Systems thinker who connects financial drivers to business strategy
- Exceptional Leadership: As an Andelan, you’ll serve as a role model for the rest of the company, you do not need to manage people to be a leader at Andela! Think about the feedback your peers typically give you – if it usually sounds like the below, we want to hear from you:
- Low ego, low drama: You share credit, take blame. You like being wrong because it means someone else had an even better idea
- One team mentality: You break silos across teams. You put the company and mission first above your team alone
- Great listener, hungry for feedback: You’re always seeking to improve – our product, our business, yourself. You solicit diverse opinions and deeply listen
- Owner, not renter: You see a problem, you fix it or find someone who will. The buck stops with you
- Team-player: You roll up your sleeves and get scrappy. You do this by proactively collaborating with your team while actively engaging in important details that matter
- Business problem solver: You’re not just a functional expert; you consistently get praise for approaching your function through the lens of solving business problems

- Own the corporate financial model, including the full three-statement build (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) and the scenario planning architecture layered on top of it
- Leadall end-to-end planning cycles (annual operating plan, monthly rolling forecasts, long-range plan), from creating the process to building templates through executive review and Board approval
- Own the monthly business review to diagnose financial health of the business (budget vs actual analysis, variance drivers, and forward-looking implications)
- Build capital allocation and investment frameworks to build business cases for growth initiatives, evaluate experiments, and tradeoffs with financial discipline
- Build unit economics, cohort, and scenario analysis to identify optimization opportunities and inform strategic decisions
- Partner with GTM, Data, and RevOps on revenue and pipeline forecasting; proactively identify risks and opportunities to achieving company targets

Our take
Andela is connecting businesses with skilled software engineering from around the world. Originally founded in Nigeria, it has grown into a global platform with talent across more than 135 countries. Over time, Andela has moved beyond simply hiring to building a larger system that helps companies find, assess, and manage technical talent, positioning itself as an "AI-native" talent platform rather than just a recruitment marketplace.
In the AI era, Andela's role is becoming more important as companies struggle to keep up with how fast the technology is evolving. Many organizations know they want to build AI-powered product, but lack the in-house skills to do so. Andela is trying to solve this by both supplying ready-to-hire engineers and training existing teams through its AI Academy. By focusing on practical skills like building AI systems, deploying them in real environments, and aligning them with business goals, it's helping close the gap between AI ambition and real-world execution.
Recently, Andela has doubled down on this strategy. Its AI Academy aims to train thousands of engineers in areas like LLMs and production AI systems, while its acquisition of Woven strengthens how it tests and verifies real-world engineering ability. Together, with earlier investments in its Talent Cloud platform, these moves show Andela shifting toward a full end-to-end system. Now the company is ready to become a key infrastructure layer for AI adoption, helping businesses not just find talent, but continuously build and maintain the skills needed to keep up.
