Corporate Accountant, Neuralink

• 5+ years of accounting experience, including general ledger, month-end close, and financial statement preparation
• Bachelor’s degree or above in accounting, finance, or a related field
• Experience with payroll processing, payroll tax filings, and HR coordination
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and initiative, with the ability and desire to navigate ambiguity at a high-growth company and to contribute to building and improving scalable accounting processes

• The Finance and Accounting Team oversees the Company’s core financial operations, including the preparation of financial statements, corporate tax filings, equity administration, insurance management, financial planning, and treasury functions
• The team plays an important role in handling technical accounting issues from identification, research, and implementation to monitoring and revision
• The Corporate Accountant is responsible for monthly financial statement close procedures and periodic financial reporting preparation
• This role also covers various finance and accounting-related tasks, including payroll processing, equity management and administration, internal control implementation, annual corporate tax preparation, and investor reporting
• Executing month-end financial statement close procedures, including preparing journal entries and reconciliations, performing bookkeeping, and preparing key close areas such as capital assets, leases, accounts payable and accruals, payroll expense and liabilities, and stock-based compensation expenses
• Preparing quarterly financial statements, including reviewing and aggregating financial statement line items, verifying completeness and accuracy of transactions, and investigating significant fluctuations or unusual items. Ensuring compliance with Section 701 disclosure requirements and providing supporting documentation for management, auditors, and investor reporting
• Managing payroll operations, including calculating wages, benefits, and supplemental income; performing reconciliations and filings; and serving as the primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries, coordinating with HR on employee data, benefits, and payroll changes
• Assisting equity management and administration activities, including equity grant processing, stock option administration, RSU vesting and release, option exercises and repurchases, cap table maintenance, and supporting employees with equity-related questions
• Supporting accounting, tax, and compliance activities for both payroll and equity, including payroll and equity-related tax filings (e.g., W-2s, 941s, Forms 3921 and 1099-B), stock-based compensation expense recognition, audit and investor reporting, and other regulatory and reporting requirements
• Assisting in the implementation and maintenance of internal control procedures in accordance with the Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR), including documenting processes, implementing and performing control testing, identifying potential control gaps, and supporting remediation efforts
• Researching, developing, maintaining, and documenting corporate accounting policies and procedures in line with U.S. GAAP or other relevant regulatory guidance
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to automate routine procedures, design and enhance processes, and strengthen internal controls
• Supporting ad hoc finance and accounting-related projects as needed
