What the job involves
- We are looking for an experienced engineering manager to join our product organization to create and nurture an empowered product team. Teams at Pragma lead the charge on unlocking game studios by defining online capabilities and shaping game system tools
- Engineering managers at Pragma co-create their team’s roadmap with a partnered Product Manager and Designer through continuously seeking customer feedback. They act as team builder and curator, responsible for the professional growth of team members and hiring new members onto the team. Engineering Managers teach and exemplify Pragma's values

Our take
Pragma offers game studios a range of applications that allow them to build, operate, and scale live, social games. Despite only launching in 2020, the platform already boasts an impressive stable of customers including Wonderstorm (The Dragon Prince), and Midnight Society (Co-founded by people behind Halo and Call of Duty).
As the need increases for new games to be multiplayer and cross-platform enabled, it’s clever of Pragma to offer a back-end toolkit that can take care of much of this infrastructure development. Essentially, small to midsize studios can focus more on actual game development and vastly reduce launch times.
The people behind the startup are no strangers to the $200 billion gaming industry, which goes some way in explaining its early stage performance and impressive fundraises. CTO Chris Cobb was an Engineering Lead at the hugely successful Riot Games, while CEO Eden Chen founded well known immersive studio Fishermen Labs.
It looks as though Pragma’s plan to target the growing number of smaller breakout studios led by well-known creators is a good strategy for the time being, at least, as the company gradually expands its range of products. It has received significant funding too, with $12.8 million awarded in 2025 being channelled into expanding its infrastructure and game-dev tools.
