Role
Who you are
- 7+ years of experience in robotics operations, system integration, systems engineering, or a similar field
- Proven track record of resolving complex, SLA-affecting issues under tight time constraints
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, firmware, and software layers
- Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Python, Bash) and working with data/log analysis tools
- Experience with Linux-based systems, containerization (e.g., Docker), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP)
- Experience with monitoring platforms (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, or equivalent)
- Familiarity with configuration management systems and OTA update strategies
- Excellent communication and coordination skills across technical and non-technical teams
- A proven track record of enabling customers of autonomous technologies
- Willingness to work on our customers’ schedules and at their locations, when necessary

- Experience leading incident management for safety-critical or mission-critical systems
- Ability to make customer needs clear to internal stakeholders
- Understanding of the edge cases that make autonomy difficult

What the job involves
- Agtonomy’s TechOps team is seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Senior Robotics Operations Engineer to oversee the performance, reliability, and operational efficiency of our deployed robotic systems
- This role is responsible for investigating field issues through deep-dive analysis, building scalable fleet monitoring and automation systems, and managing configuration across hardware and software versions
- Lead root cause analysis of complex field issues using logs, telemetry, and system-level diagnostics
- Design and maintain monitoring infrastructure to detect anomalies and ensure fleet health at scale
- Develop automation tools and scripts to streamline triage, updates, and reporting
- Own configuration management across the fleet, including version control of firmware, parameters, and feature flags
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering and operations teams to resolve recurring issues and improve product robustness
- Define KPIs and build dashboards for operational visibility and performance tracking
- Own new site standup from initial site surveys through the delivery of Agtonomy’s autonomous tractors and beginning of operations
- Contribute to a better user experience, from our technology to our documentation and everything in between
Application process
- Our interview process is generally conducted in four (4) phases:
- Phone Screen with People Operations (30 minutes)
- Video Interview with the Hiring Manager (45 minutes)
- Panel Interview (Video interviews scheduled with key stakeholders, each interview will be 30 to 45 minutes)
- Final Interviews (CEO, CFO, 30 minutes each)
Our take
While trillions of dollars are spent on developing autonomous passenger vehicles, core industries such as agriculture haven’t been getting the same attention. This is where Agtonomy steps in, supplying software that turns tractors and other equipment into autonomous machines, enabling cost-saving remote modes of operation.
Agtonomy differs itself from its competition by primarily meeting the needs of local farmers as opposed to big farms. In line with this, its autonomous vehicles will cost around $50,000, which is a far cry from the $500,000-$1 million price tag typical in the industry.
In 2023, the company expanded its customer pilot program in a step towards a full commercial launch, which followed in 2025. Continued funding supports Agtonomy's growth and market expansion as it scales commercial deployments in agriculture and adjacent industries.
