Who you are

- Experience: 5+ years of CRM experience, ideally in an eCommerce or digital marketplace environment, with proven results in driving customer activation, retention, and monetisation
- Expertise: Strong knowledge of CRM channels (email, app, push, in-app, web) and best practices, with a data-driven approach to experimentation and optimisation
- Analytical acumen: You thrive on using data to uncover insights, identify patterns, and make decisions. SQL knowledge is a plus
- Leadership: Inspirational and collaborative person, comfortable guiding complex projects and driving department-wide impact
- Functional skills: Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder management skills; able to simplify complexity and drive execution
- Mindset: Resilient, proactive, and adaptable; eager to embrace change, innovate, and create solutions

What the job involves
- As CRM Sr Specialist at Catawiki, you will own the development, execution, and optimisation of our global, data-driven CRM strategy.
- You will be responsible for ensuring that our communications are relevant, timely, and impactful - driving customer engagement, retention, and conversion across multiple channels.
- These include email, app push notifications, in-app messages, notification centre, and web banners
- Your mission will be to:
- Activate new Catawiki users and guide them towards becoming active participants
- Reactivate dormant or inactive users with targeted and personalised strategies
- Drive conversion from visitor to bidder (demand side) and visitor to submitter (supply side), with a strong focus on ensuring both result in wins and sales
- Collaboration is central to this role: you’ll work closely with Product Management, Brand, and Country Managers to design impactful CRM initiatives that align with business priorities and deliver measurable results
- Support your manager in shaping strategy while staying close to the action by leading the operational execution of Catawiki’s CRM programmes, ensuring they deliver impact and stays aligned with business goals
- Use data and insights to design, test, and optimise customer journeys that drive activation, retention, and revenue growth
- Proactively identify opportunities for innovation and improvement, embedding analytical rigour into every step
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Product, Brand, Country Management, Analytics) to ensure CRM efforts are integrated and impactful
- Contribute to building functional expertise by sharing knowledge, encouraging ownership, and embracing a culture of experimentation and continuous learning
Our take
In the past, it was only possible to purchase special items such as rare coins, antiques, and vintage cars at auctions held at physical locations. These days, many people prefer online auctions, but whilst they provide a wider range of objects for sale, this comes at the cost of proper pricing and quality control. Catawiki provides an expert-regulated online auctioning marketplace where users can browse and bid for special objects easily via the web or mobile app.
The objects listed on Catawiki are curated, valued, and verified by in-house experts, with over 65,000 objects passing through the marketplace every week. In this approach, the company has combined the community knowledge found at traditional auctions with the benefits of digital auctioning platforms, occupying a space that has long remained empty, and avoiding competition from bidding marketplace giants such as eBay.
Catawiki has received good funding in the past, which contributed to it becoming the success it is today. A recent venture has seen the company expand to serve artisanal artists with its handmade products auction series.
