Who you are
- We are seeking a Senior Accountant adept at problem-solving, building and streamlining processes, and developing accounting best practices in a high-growth environment
- Minimum 5+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) highly preferred, with at least 4 years in Public Accounting (Big 4 preferred)
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of US GAAP and IFRS, with demonstrated experience in ASC 606, 820, and some familiarity with other technical accounting pronouncements such as ASC 350-60
- Industry Knowledge: Prior experience in SaaS and/or Web3, specifically with blockchain protocol and developer revenue streams
- Analytical Skills: Ability to distill complex financial information, perform detailed analysis, and develop revenue forecasting models
- Process Improvement: Proven experience in developing and managing internal controls and optimizing financial processes
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
- Problem Solving & Initiative: Resourceful, agile self-starter with the ability to take ownership of projects and drive them to completion
What the job involves
- Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role will have primary ownership of digital asset accounting while also contributing to other key areas of the accounting function
- You’ll help ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, support timely and accurate financial reporting, and play a critical role in scaling our processes as the company grows
- Lead, prepare, and manage accounting process for digital asset transactions, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and flux analysis
- Ensure proper accounting treatment under ASC 350-30 and ASC 820 for digital asset holdings and related transactions
- Perform reconciliations of digital asset wallets, sub-ledgers, and related accounts
- Operate as an accounting subject matter expert, collaborating with cross-functional teams (Treasurer and Product) to ensure accounting processes align with evolving business models and controls
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of relevant systems to independently research and resolve issues
- Serve as a key resource for FP&A and Controllership to deliver relevant, timely, and accurate financial data and metrics to enable operational efficiency
- Support audit requests and collaborate with external auditors on matters related to digital assets
- Provide support for special projects, system implementations, and process automation efforts
