Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of UX/product design experience
- Evidence of systematic design thinking and having implemented delightful product experiences with a strong customer fit and demonstrated business impact
- Experience validating new products, and iteratively validating and finding product market fit
- Worked with large teams (15+ designers) in mid-to-large product companies (200+). Experience with enterprise applications and services is a plus
- Strong visual and interaction design. Ability and proven examples of sweating the details and shipping quality detailed interactions with the team
- Experience working with design systems, accessibility and implementing these at scale across a product
- Expert technical knowledge and skills: in Figma, working with advanced capabilities such as libraries and analytics, variants, autolayout, and dev mode, as well as building out prototypes to successfully validate experiences with customers
- Experience working with emerging AI-assisted design and prototyping workflows would be advantage
What the job involves
- We’re looking for an early/mid-career IC product designer to join our team designing AI features for Miro. You'll apply a customer-centric approach to complex problem-solving and collaborate with other designers from some of the highest-profile companies in the world
- This role will focus on the interaction design needs of our AI work streams - while being part of the multidisciplinary UX team creating the vision of human x AI collaboration within Miro
- You'll need a solid portfolio demonstrating both creative execution and systematic design thinking. Experience designing products powered by generative AI would be an advantage
- We operate in a fast-paced environment and get to have a direct impact on the millions of users who rely on Miro to collaborate. As a part of our Product Design team, you will contribute to our design process, culture, and experience principles and set new standards for design quality
- Be a vital part of the end-to-end design process with a focus on bringing delight to our users, learning from customers and iterating
- Partner with the cross functional teams to ensure we’re prioritizing and solving the right problems for our users
- Translate insights from research and data to deliver scalable design concepts and detailed solutions that provide measurable value and impact
- Work in different levels of fidelity from simple sketches all the way to high fidelity advanced prototypes to help illustrate design concepts, test their viability, and support the development process
- Work closely with other designers and the design system team to systemize solutions and ensure they seamlessly integrate with Miro’s wider product experience
- Work closely with the wider Design team to ensure solutions are fully accessible
Our take
Millions of employees worldwide have moved to remote working, but existing tools are holding back the potential for collaboration. Tools such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams already provide remote communication platforms to millions of users, but they generally compromise on features required to emulate the team collaboration experience.
Miro has created a platform that provides enterprise tools such as collaborative whiteboards and mind-map software into an accessible and integrated service. As opposed to providing an 'all-in-one' add on, Miro allows businesses to customize and integrate the tools and resources within their individual platform to cater to the team's specific requirements.
Miro’s initial strategy of offering free and discounted subscriptions and then moving to paid models has paid off. The platform currently has over 35 million users and is trusted by enterprises such as VMware, Zendesk and Frog. As part of its ongoing battle with Zoom, Miro acquired video-chat startup Around in 2022, to remain competitive in the market.
