Who you are
- We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior ML System and Performance Engineer

- Education: Master’s or Ph.D. in Systems Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field. Ongoing professional development in AI/ML domains is expected
- 7+ years of experience
- Proficiency in programming languages: Strong programming skills in Python and C++ with hands-on experience in PyTorch and other ML frameworks
- GPU programming expertise: Strong knowledge of CUDA, ROCm, and related software ecosystems
- Proficiency in AI models: Solid understanding of Transformer architectures and Generative AI (GenAI) models
- Model and system optimization: In-depth knowledge of training, fine-tuning, and inference, with a focus on optimizing model and system performance
- Proficiency in HPC libraries: Solid knowledge of computing libraries such as Triton, cuDNN, and cuBLAS to accelerate AI and machine learning workloads
- MLOps expertise: Familiarity with modern MLOps techniques and toolsets for efficient model development and deployment pipelines
What the job involves
- As a Senior ML System and Performance Engineer, you will lead comprehensive performance analysis and optimization of diverse AI models—including training, fine-tuning, and inference— across a wide range of hardware and software stacks
- You will join a first class experienced Team in charge of the FCS Lab
- Success at FlexAI requires an entrepreneurial spirit and startup mindset: the ability to rapidly iterate and make meaningful progress while staying focused on our mission to deliver more compute with less complexity
- Your role is pivotal in realizing this goal by enabling systematic, reproducible benchmarking, comparison, and optimization of AI systems

Our take
With a vision to contribute to the AI revolution, FlexAI delivers a layer of software intelligence, abstraction and orchestration into the AI compute stack. By rearchitecting existing architecture, it is creating accessible, universal AI compute to support the future of machine intelligence.
The idea is to combat the existing challenges with running AI workloads across diverse hardware. By doing this, FlexAI will enable AI developers to leverage a broader range of computing power without needing to modify their code.
FlexAI only came out of stealth in 2024, so we've yet to see much of what it has to offer, but its proposition has attracted a hefty seed investment. This will support the company as it moves forwards with the launch of its first product and towards its ultimate goal to empower AI acceleration.
