Who you are
- A quantitative background, such as a degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, engineering, or a related field
- Data-driven decision making, with the ability to analyse complex data and generate actionable insights
- Strategic thinking, with the ability to evaluate underwriting processes and design improvements for credit models and policies
- A curious and proactive mindset, with the autonomy to investigate data deeply and own the delivery of projects from end to end
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical analyses into clear recommendations for different audiences
Desirable
- Experience in B2B or B2C credit risk, lending, and strategy
- Proficiency in SQL and Python
- Experience with data visualisation tools like Looker
What the job involves
- We're looking for a Risk Analyst to join our iwocaPay team, focusing on our lending strategy and credit risk
- You’ll apply data analysis and critical thinking to build and refine the automated credit models that power instant trade credit, shaping how thousands of businesses pay and get paid through iwocaPay
- IwocaPay is a dynamic, fast-growing team of 40, organised into four squads
- The Risk Squad is a cross-functional unit that focuses on credit assessments, fraud, and merchant counterparty risk
- You will work closely with our current Data Scientist and future Head of Credit Risk (iwocaPay), acting as the "analytical backbone" of the squad to drive sustainable growth, while balancing our risk appetite
- You’ll analyse data and contribute to the development of our credit models. You’ll work with analysts, data scientists, and senior stakeholders to shape iwocaPay’s lending strategy
- Build expertise in the credit domain
- Develop your analytical skills through exposure to different experimental approaches and complex analysis
- Practice turning data into information, and information into insights, so that you and various stakeholders can deliver improvements with real impact for our customers
- Monitoring and refining risk models to improve decision-making and portfolio outcomes
- Analysing portfolios and tests to investigate credit performance, identify drivers of change, and adapt lending strategies
- Improving our data, systems, and workflows to strengthen underwriting and monitoring
- Supporting new product launches and adapting policies to meet investor and regulatory needs
