Role
Who you are
- Dotmatics is seeking a Backend/Full Stack Engineer with an understanding of basic backend architecture and functional programming languages, such as Java & Java Script, to join our team
- We are looking for people who have a bachelor's degree in computer science or similar, or equivalent working experience with a minimum of 1 year PQE in software development, with a focus on backend technologies, and can demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- The key skills we are looking for you have a working understanding or knowledge of
- Java or similar programming language (Scala or C#)
- Javascript
- Asynchronous event processing (Kafka, SQS or similar)
- SQL Databases (Postgres)
- High-level backend application design
- RESTful and GraphQL APIs
- Containerization (Docker)
- CI/CD tools, such as Github Actions, and CodePipeline
- Agile software development methodologies and practices
Desirable
- Databricks
- Automated testing platforms and unit tests
- React
- Life science research experience
- Scaling applications to process large volumes of data and events
What the job involves
- You will be responsible for implementing and testing scalable software that meets the needs of the company
- Working on groundbreaking Scientific Software products such as LUMA you will have the opportunity to collaborate with wider teams on best practices alongside other developers
- Collaborate with the software development team in designing, developing, and implementing high-quality software solutions
- Contribute to the development of software architecture and design principles for the organization
- Ensure the scalability, maintainability, and security of software solutions
- Participate in code reviews
