Who you are
- This role would be ideal for someone who has progressed to Senior in an established team and has already acted as the owner for analytics in a domain or function, and is now looking to take full ownership at company level
- This role is for someone who thrives on ownership, moves fast with rigour, and cares about meaningful business impact. You’ll lay the foundations for how we use analytics at Nory - setting the standard for scalable, reliable, and actionable data
- If you’re excited by dashboards and by sitting next to senior leaders, helping them understand what’s really happening in the business, this role will be a strong fit
- Senior-level analytics experience: You have at over 3 years of experience working in modern analytics teams at tech startups. You’ve built the dashboards and the processes — and know what good looks like
- Proven end-to-end ownership: You’ve been a key driver (or the first analytics hire) in building analytics foundations – from dispersed source data to trusted dashboards used by leadership
- Strong SQL and dbt skills: You write clean, modular code, build thoughtful data models, and maintain clear lineage. You understand performance and maintainability
- Data warehousing know-how: You have a solid theoretical knowledge of data warehousing, including the ability to debug non-performant queries and design fit-for-purpose schemas
- Tooling fundamentals: You’ve worked with cloud data platforms and BI tools. We use Omni, Snowflake, and Airbyte - but we believe good fundamentals matter more than specific tools
- Business-first mindset: You’ve delivered insights that changed priorities, influenced senior stakeholders, or shaped roadmap decisions – not just dashboards that reported what already happened
- Startup readiness: You’re looking for ownership. You’re motivated by autonomy, ambiguity, and the chance to shape something from the ground up

What the job involves
- We’re now looking for our Founding Senior Analytics Engineer to join our growing Data team
- You’ll be our first analytics hire, and you’ll help shape how we use data to operate smarter at every level of the business. The platforms are in place — Snowflake, dbt, Omni, Airbyte — and now we need someone to turn raw ingredients into something powerful
- This role is not a pure analyst role, and not a traditional data engineering role. We’re looking for someone who has already owned analytics end-to-end in a fast-moving environment – building trusted data models and turning them into insights that shape leadership decisions
- Build company-wide KPI dashboards: In your first few months, you’ll work with the exec team to build and roll out dashboards that replace manual spreadsheets and CSV exports
- Drive insight and decision-making at leadership level: Partner with the exec team to define what matters, surface the right metrics, and translate data into clear recommendations and trade-offs that inform planning and execution
- Deliver internal data products: Collaborate with Ops, GTM, Marketing, Finance, Product, and CS to create curated data marts, prebuilt dashboards, and interactive reports
- Design and own our analytics foundations: Define and build production-grade dbt models, marts, and metrics that become the single source of truth for the company. You’ll set standards for modelling, testing, and documentation as we scale
- Enable the rest of the business: Support teams in learning and using our BI tools effectively. From onboarding new joiners to levelling up power users, you’ll help others become more data-driven
- What success looks like in the first year:
- Leadership trusts a single set of numbers and no longer relies on spreadsheets
- Teams self-serve from well-defined dashboards and marts
- You’re a go-to partner for execs when decisions need data
- Analytics foundations are strong enough to hire and onboard junior analysts underneath you
Our take
Nory’s AI and automation software allows restaurants to more easily take control of common pain points like inventory, staffing, and marketing, all on one platform. With thin margins, stretched teams and high levels of waste, Nory was founded by a seasoned restaurant founder and scaler, who knows all too well how juggling "market-leading" systems can become a headache for restaurant managers. Indeed, he even built an early version of Nory for his own restaurant.
What makes Nory a particularly interesting prospect is the value that it can offer multi-site restaurants or chains, given its ability to collect data on each location at once. It melds real-time data with AI predictive analytics so that operators can regain control of their profit. It’s this certainty of purpose and value that’s helped Nory get off to a flying start, securing a rapidly growing customer base including Stonegate Pubs, Dr Juice and Viva Italia.
Having raised a significant amount of capital, most recently in a May 2025 Series B round, Nory has grown its team and expanded from Ireland and the UK into Spain as well. It's using its funding to expand into the US, hire data scientists and accelerate its product development. As the hospitality industry struggles with high costs and low margins, Nory's solution will be increasingly essential for restaurants seeking to optimise their operations and turn a profit.
