Who you are

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of VAT, GST, sales and use tax, and other indirect taxes, along with strong leadership and communication skills
Master’s degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, or equivalent) preferred
10+ years tax experience in public accounting or a highly complex multinational environment required with a strong background in VAT, GST, sales and use tax, and other indirect taxes
Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing team
In-depth knowledge of global indirect tax regulations and compliance requirements
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
Experience with tax technology and ERP systems is a plus

What the job involves

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of Indirect Tax to lead our global indirect tax function
This role will be responsible for managing all aspects of indirect tax compliance, planning, and strategy to ensure the company's adherence to tax regulations and optimization of tax positions
Lead and manage the global indirect tax team, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and timely compliance with all indirect tax obligations
Develop and implement indirect tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position and minimize risks
Oversee the preparation and review of indirect tax returns, ensuring compliance with local and international tax laws
Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the company, providing proactive advice and recommendations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, operations, and IT to ensure alignment on tax-related matters
Maintain relationships with external tax advisors and authorities, representing the company in audits and disputes
Provide training and support to internal stakeholders on indirect tax matters
Drive continuous improvement in tax processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy
