Who you are
- 3–5+ years of experience in sales development or inside sales, with at least 1–2 years managing an SDR/BDR team
- Proven success generating pipeline in enterprise B2B SaaS, ideally with complex sales cycles
- Strong leadership skills with a coaching-first mentality
- Data-driven mindset with experience using Salesforce, Outreach/Salesloft, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and related sales tech
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and analytical skills

What the job involves
- As the Sales development manager, you’ll be responsible for building, scaling, and leading a team of high-performing SDRs
- Your focus will be pipeline generation: driving outbound excellence, optimizing inbound conversion, and ensuring WRITER is engaging the right accounts and personas
- You’ll partner closely with Marketing, Sales, and RevOps to refine strategy, implement best practices, and hit ambitious pipeline goals
- Lead & coach: hire, train, and develop a team of SDRs, ensuring they are consistently exceeding activity and pipeline generation targets
- Pipeline ceneration: own top-of-funnel performance metrics, including outbound outreach, meeting conversion, and opportunity creation
- Process optimization: define repeatable playbooks, cadences, and messaging frameworks for targeting enterprise buyers
- Enablement: partner with Sales enablement to provide continuous training around personas, industries, objection handling, and AI market trends
- Collaboration: work cross-functionally with Marketing, AE leadership, and RevOps to align on account targeting, lead routing, and reporting
- Performance management: track KPIs, provide regular coaching and feedback, and run weekly 1:1s and team meetings
- Culture: foster a team culture that is high-energy, collaborative, and driven by curiosity and excellence

AI-assisted writing tools have taken off over recent years. With the likes of high-exposure company Grammarly accelerating adoption of such tools, a flurry of startups have appeared to offer their own takes. Writer’s angle is to leverage AI as a means of standardizing and scaling both content and communications for business teams. The tool offers autofilling and inline suggestions that keep content aligned with pre-determined company language and style guides.
This branded fine-tuning function distinguishes it from full copy-generation competitors, as well as from Grammarly itself, which is a more generalist copyediting tool. It subsequently caters to major enterprise clients looking to maintain standards across multiple and sprawling teams, and the company has managed to net major clients like Deloitte, Twitter, UiPath, and Accenture.
While AI-related buzz remains solidly around generative AIs like ChatGPT and Bard, Writer's narrow target market - in which it has already found success - supplies plenty of scope to grow, as AI copyediting tools look set to rapidly become content industry standard. With continued new launches and updates to its offerings, as well as an impressive $200 million Series C awarded in 2024, the company is well-placed for further success.
