Who you are
- 7+ years of experience with an advanced degree (Master's or MBA) and experience in consulting or corporate strategy required
- Highly analytical and strong critical thinking, able to break down a complex problem into manageable pieces and generate actionable insights
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner
- Growth mindset and flexibility is a must. Comfortable in unstructured environments and operating as novices in a topic with the intellectual flexibility to work across all topics and functions
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a very fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Experience working with or in a startup environment
What the job involves
- Hello Heart is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Director, Strategy and Business Operations to play a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives, optimizing business processes, and ensuring the company's long-term success through informed decision-making and operational excellence
- Reporting to the Chief of Staff, this position requires a blend of strategic thinking, analytical skills, operational expertise, and stellar communication
- Operations/Execution: Drives execution of cross-functional projects to keep projects on track, ensure key deliverables are completed, align stakeholders, and give visibility into key metrics
- Strategy: Provide strategic insights to leadership and departments to inform the strategic direction of the company: conduct market research (including interviews), drive competitive analyses, and pre-digest information prior to sharing with executives
- Analysis: Gather and analyze large amounts of information quickly
- Problem Solving: Structure complex, ambiguous and potentially charged operational / business issues and develop compelling, insightful recommendations
- Business Performance Management: Develop, manage, and automate the business performance metrics (OKRs & KPIs)
- Project Management: Able to manage multiple projects at once from discovery through execution within prescribed timelines, ensuring all success criteria are met
- Prioritization: Able to execute on projects within prescribed timelines in an environment with competing demands

Hello Heart is a medical tech company that helps its users achieve lifestyle changes that will reduce their risk of heart disease, using artificial intelligence, behavioral science, a digital coaching app and connected monitoring tools to achieve this
Hello Heart is offered as a service to individuals via its app and to employers and health insurance who can offer it as a perk to their employees or customers. While other solutions exist, such as a plethora of health-related, gamified apps and coaching services, Hello Heart is somewhat unique with its membership of the American Heart Association's Innovator's Network, giving its solution a great deal of credibility compared to its rivals. Indeed, Hello Heart drives down health care costs by almost $2,000 a year per user, which has led to it being offered as a perk by companies such as Delta Airlines and Northwestern Mutual.
The company has raised a significant amount of funding, most recently in 2022 which saw it closing a Series D round. It is currently focusing on R&D efforts to improve the AI underpinning its technology, allowing it to add new and more thorough health tracking and coaching capabilities. With a popular and effective solution to a growing problem, Hello Heart is well poised to continue its run of success.
