What the job involves
- As a Senior Developer at Kahootz, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and optimising our secure cloud collaboration platform
- You’ll work within a talented team, focused on building robust, scalable, and secure solutions that meet the complex needs of our clients in government, defence, and healthcare
- This position offers the chance to collaborate on complex technical challenges while working in an agile environment
- In this role, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including product, R&D, and customer services, to ensure that our platform remains at the forefront of secure collaboration technology
- Your responsibilities will include code development, reviewing peer contributions, troubleshooting, and supporting the continuous integration of new features and enhancements
- Your contributions will directly impact Kahootz’s mission to provide trusted, secure collaboration for critical sectors such as defence and healthcare
- Develop software in an agile environment against specific requirements, demonstrating understanding of needs and objectives
- Review and test code for technical accuracy and compliance with design specifications
- Manage deadlines related to product release timelines and complete development tasks within established timeframes
- Develop software in an agile environment

- Design robust and scalable solutions within the Kahootz product set
- Write unit tests to ensure quality and functionality
- Improve performance and refactor legacy code

- Mentor and coach team members to enhance their skills and growth

Jonas Software is an investment and software management company that focuses on the vertical markets, meaning markets that develop software for specific needs rather than general use. Founded in 1990, the company rose to prominence when it was acquired by Constellation Software in 2003 and now oversees more than a hundred companies that it itself has acquired over the years. It operates in over 30 vertical markets and has 80,000 customers for its solutions.
Investing smaller amounts in niche companies has paid off for Jonas, many of its investments later becoming large markets and leaders in their industry. For instance, Jonas’s expansion into the world of fitness membership software preceded the explosion of digital fitness apps. Other notable investments have included Jonas’s Clubhouse Online, a mobile app that helps book slots and reservations for golf club services in the mid-noughties, preceding the rise in online hospitality booking.
Throughout the 2020s, Jonas has expanded further into the hospitality, compliance and manufacturing sectors, merging its acquisitions with property management and online marketing companies to compete against the likes of Amadeus and Oracle. In a bid to expand and compete against younger yet larger companies, Jonas is restructuring its less profitable assets.
