Role
Who you are
- 6+ years of experience in System, Software and AEH Design Assurance activities for aerospace standards
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
- Experience with full lifecycle safety critical systems, software and AEH complying with design assurance standards like ARP4754A/B, DO-178C and DO-254.
- Experience with multiple systems and software environments and tools
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Experience in fast-paced, demanding work environments
- Experience with agile/lean methodologies
Desirable
- Experience with Tool Qualification following DO-330
- Experience with Model Based Development and Verification following DO-331
- Experience with ARP4761
- Experience with System and Software developments for an aircraft OEM
- Experience with FAA Certification Compliance Reviews
- Familiarity with Archer CM Tools, e.g. Polarion, Collaborator, Git/Bitbucket, TeamCity, Jira and Teamcenter
What the job involves
- Execute System Process and Design Assurance Reviews for Archer internal system development according to the established system processes and tools for compliance with ARP4754A
- Execute Software Quality Assurance activities for Archer internal software development according to the established software processes and tools for compliance with DO-178C
- Execute Supplier Oversight and Design Assurance Reviews for Software and AEH developments according to Archer established process for compliance with DO-178C, DO-254 and other certification regulations
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Archer System and Software processes, with focus on compliance with ARP4754A and DO-178C
- Interface with FAA DERs and Certification Authorities for coordination, execution and follow-up of systems, software and AEH compliance reviews
- Maintain and control the issues found in all System/Software/AEH design assurance activities until resolution

With traffic, noise, and emissions becoming major challenges for urban life, Archer is building electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, led by its flagship model, Midnight, offering a cleaner, quieter alternative to traditional short-haul travel. The idea is simple: replace long car rides with quick, sustainable flights that lift off vertically, fly over the gridlock, and help reduce urban pollution. It's a bold shift in transportation, but one that could meaningfully change how we navigate cities in the years ahead.
Midnight is designed to make these short flights practical, safe, and efficient. Its electric powertrain significantly reduces noise and emissions compared to helicopters (one of the biggest barriers to adopting urban air mobility at scale). However, eVTOLs face hurdles before becoming an everyday reality, including regulatory approvals, infrastructure build-out, and the operational testing needed to prove long-term safety and reliability. Archer is addressing these challenges with major manufacturing investment, deep engineering partnerships, and ongoing flight testing in the US and abroad.
Even with these barriers, Archer has been moving from success to success. The company is set to be the official air taxi provider for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles. And its recent acquisition of Hawthorne Airport in LA will serve as both a launch site and an innovation hub for next-generation, AI-powered aviation operations. On the commercial side, Archer's partnerships with United Airlines and its growing international presence signal strong industry confidence. Combined with newly expanded funding and successful long-range flight tests, Archer sure is a promising player in eVTOl aviation.
