Who you are
- This position is best for someone who is quick-thinking, flexible, creative, and enjoys taking on new challenges
- 2+ years as a Sales Engineer or Solution Engineer with SaaS experience
- Enterprise industry knowledge and expertise, including technical and security challenges, integrations into SSO, and sophisticated network environments
- Experience working with APIs and SDKs
- Understanding of live and on-demand video workflows and or Unified Communications
- Ability to communicate and collaborate patiently and optimally with both technical and non-technical teams
- You can work independently, adapt quickly, and maintain a positive demeanor
- The ideal candidate will be in the EST time zone

- Imeo is looking for a Sales Engineer to join our team!
- You will work with content creators and businesses, interpreting and evaluating their needs and communicating how Vimeo can help!
- By joining Vimeo, you will be part of our growing Sales Engineering team servicing the Corporate and Strategic customer base
- Your key focus will be bringing the power of video to some of the largest global Enterprises and content owners in the arts, fitness, and entertainment industry, who are taking their business to the next level with our best-in-class video products
- You will work closely with colleagues who are passionate about video technology, are diverse, curious, and value an inclusive workplace
- Work with companies across varying industries, evaluating their requirements and helping them solve their video hosting, monetization, and live streaming needs
- Prepare and deliver value-based demonstrations by highlighting our outstanding and industry-leading features as a Vimeo Expert
- Document customer requirements, design and validate proposed solution workflows, and document for sharing back to clients
- Work closely with prospects to plan and execute RFPs, product evaluations, and security questionnaires
- Contribute to the productization of Vimeo’s offerings by collecting and providing customer feedback on Product and Engineering
- Grow technically and professionally in a collaborative and inclusive environment with opportunities to learn and share with others
Our take
Vimeo was founded by filmmakers who wanted an efficient way to share videos with others. It is more creator-oriented than YouTube, with professional software, technology, and tools for creators to produce, share, and sell their videos.
In 2007, it became the first online video sharing site to support HD playback for consumers, updating to 4K playback in 2016. Vimeo's app has also been updated to allow recording and live streaming as well as watching video. This service is aimed predominantly at enterprise customers although they have millions of small-time users too.
Vimeo has risen to become the world's biggest ad-free open video platform, with significant funding that has allowed it to expand operations and build up the business. Recently, however, the company has found itself struck by the effects of the economic downturn felt by much of the industry, and has been forced to reduce its workforce - a step taken to ensure it comes out of this rough time "a stronger company". On top of this, it received a hefty fine for failure to remove copyrighted content back in 2019, after losing an appeal against the initial ruling.
In 2024, Vimeo is rumoured to be in the process of acquisition by leading mobile app developer Bending Spoons, which could signify a major shift in the tech landscape.
