Who you are

  • You must have prior experience (preferably 3+ years) in an outbound sales role
  • You have been a player-manager before and are adept at balancing chasing an individual target whilst motivating your team of max 3 Business Development Managers (BDMs)
  • You are great at learning in a fast paced environment, know how to adapt, be proactive, and enjoy the process
  • You are high energy, ambitious, hardworking and a fast learner
  • You are comfortable prospecting to startups and mid-market, and how to adapt to ensure your team hits target
  • You are a clear communicator who can work with commercial leadership to establish a clear vision for the BDM function
  • You can handle data and metrics effectively, and have experience with CRMs and pipeline management
  • You have worked closely with a growth and marketing team to improve lead generation

What the job involves

  • You will report to Jack (Commercial Director) and work closely with Steph (Head of Sales) to continue to build our sales development function, a fairly new team at Otta. This is a great opportunity for someone who is hungry to learn
  • You will work closely with Jack on the overall strategy for the BDM team and will be ultimately accountable for the volume of meetings you and your team book and the combined value of those qualified opportunities
  • You will conduct 1 to 1 sessions on call quality, outreach strategies and performance KPIs with your BDM team of 2 individual contributors. Ultimately their KPIs are your KPIs
  • You will run pipeline reviews and will coach through call re-listening / mock calls on a regular basis, offering clear, constructive feedback to help your BDMs refine their outreach strategies and optimise lead generation
  • You will generate and qualify outbound leads to understand if they are a good fit for Otta, nurturing them through the initial stages of the sales funnel, before executing a smooth handover to the Account Executives. Your job will be to provide context about the prospect's needs, challenges, and interactions, enabling the sales team to tailor their approach effectively
  • You will use our unique insights and data to identify and generate potential leads or prospects for the sales team through various channels such as email, phone calls and social media
  • You will share the feedback prospects give you with our Marketing and Product teams, so that we can refine messaging, improve targeting, and enhance product offerings
  • You’ll use and maintain tools including: Hubspot, Outreach, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, LeadIQ, G-Suite, Slack
