Role
Who you are
- Strong proficiency in data modelling and a deep understanding of data analysis
- Strong experience with ELT, focusing on transformations at scale, preferably with DBT
- Extensive experience with Snowflake or alternative data warehouses
- Ability to independently identify and implement opportunities for improving the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of our data transformation pipeline
- Capacity to balance long-term platform improvements with daily operational needs
- Able to upskill and mentor non-technical colleagues in analytics engineering
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with business analysts and stakeholders, translating business requirements into technical solutions

- Take ownership across a broad remit. You are trusted to make decisions that drive a material impact on the direction and success of Lendable from day 1
- Work in small teams of exceptional people, who are relentlessly resourceful to solve problems and find smarter solutions than the status quo
- Build the best technology in-house, using new data sources, machine learning and AI to make machines do the heavy lifting
- As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will oversee the data architecture for our U.S. business and Superapp
- These new products are critical to Lendable's ambitious growth strategy and represent greenfield opportunities where you will take ownership of the data models that will inform our decision-making at all levels
- Your work will directly impact our capabilities in credit underwriting, enhancing our ability to make smarter, faster lending decisions
- Additionally, your insights will drive user retention and engagement for our consumer-facing app (Zable) aimed at understanding and predicting user behaviour
- You will collaborate with analysts, stakeholders, backend engineers, and product teams to enhance our Data Warehouse, turning it into a competitive asset for Lendable
- This role will give you the opportunity to significantly influence our organisation by mentoring a team of analysts and setting the foundations of our analytical workflow
- Overseeing the data modelling architecture and implementation for our U.S. business and Superapp
- Driving the development of our DBT models, collaborating with analysts and stakeholders to enhance their efficiency in gaining insights
- Supporting and mentoring analysts at all technical levels to accelerate their development and improve their engineering skills
- Communicating analysts' needs to the data platform team to prioritise our roadmap effectively
- Acting as a liaison between backend engineers and product teams to understand data generation and its significance, while leading the triage of any issues affecting the analytics pipeline
- Contributing to the overall data platform strategy to ensure our features are relevant, impactful, and maintain the highest data quality standards

- Take-home SQL test (approximately taking 2 hours, to return within a week)
- Peer interviews to assess technical skills and business insight (90 minutes)
- Final culture interview with our CTPO (30 minutes)
Salary benchmarks
Our take
Lendable competes with banks, other marketplace lenders, and consumer finance companies to provide loans to consumers, small businesses, and property developers. Last year the UK marketplace lenders loaned £7.3bn in total.
Lendable believes it can win in this crowded field due to its market-best customer service and its strong financials. Unlike Zopa, RateSetter, or Lending Works, their funding comes from institutional investors.
It originates and services the loans on behalf of institutional investors, but does not hold them on its own balance sheet.
Growing insolvencies will worry all marketplace lending platforms, but Lendable looks well placed to weather any credit storm given their substantial debt financing.
