Role
Who you are
- You are a brand-focused designer with a passion for crafting compelling visual identities. You have a sharp eye for design and understand how strong branding can influence perceptions and drive engagement on a fintech platform
- 3+ years of experience in brand design, with a portfolio demonstrating a range of successful projects
- Proven experience in leading and executing brand campaigns
- Expertise in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and other relevant design tools
- Strong ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage tight deadlines
- Creative, innovative, and willing to take risks to build a distinctive brand presence
- High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining brand integrity
What the job involves
- Kalshi will be executing dozens of high-stakes campaigns in the coming months. As a Brand Designer, you will be crafting and evolving our brand's visual identity.
- You will play a crucial role in shaping how millions of people experience and recognize the Kalshi brand.
- These projects will span in-product branding elements, OOH, television, digital media, social platforms, and beyond.
- Your ability to create cohesive brand visuals and tell stories through design will be key to our success.
- We are looking for someone who is highly focused on execution and help craft a cohesive brand and can produce high-quality brand assets that build awareness, trust, and engagement
- Brand Identity Development: Design and evolve Kalshi’s brand identity across all touchpoints, ensuring every visual asset aligns with our brand guidelines and core values
- Creative Direction: Lead and execute design for multi-channel campaigns, including digital, social media, print, OOH, and internal branding
- Brand Consistency: Ensure consistency in tone, style, and visual identity across all brand assets, working to make Kalshi’s brand recognizable and influential
- Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product, and content teams to ensure that all design work supports broader business goals and strengthens Kalshi’s market presence
- Innovation and Experimentation: Continuously explore and implement new ideas for evolving the brand's look and feel. Be prepared to iterate based on performance data and feedback to enhance the effectiveness of our visual communication
- Digital & Social Media: Develop compelling digital content and creative assets tailored to each platform to increase shareability, engagement, and brand visibility
Our take
Despite there being a broad choice of investment models, traders have not traditionally been able to invest in the outcomes of future events. Kalshi, as the first federally regulated exchange where users can invest, trade and essentially "bet" on future outcomes, sets out to change this.
The company has launched a unique asset class called "event contracts", where investors can buy simple yes or no contracts based on whether an event will happen or not. Since gaining federal regulation, Kalshi has begun adding expertise in key areas, hiring Google’s Phil Bogle as Director of Engineering and former Nadex CEO Timothy McDermott to the Board of Directors.
The key to the company's future will be maintaining trust with users through transparency, particularly on how more complex or ongoing ‘wagers’ are settled. The team has been backed with funding from Sequoia Capital, who have most likely gauged how valuable the opinion data collected on the site could be to market and political researchers - although the CFTC's reluctance to approve betting on US elections has presented a block in the road for Kalshi's plans to add "the outcome of congressional elections" to its asset options.
