Role
Who you are
- You’ll be coding backend systems that partners rely on. Strong TypeScript skills ensure you can create efficient, maintainable solutions for real-world use
- Integrations are at the heart of what we do. Your ability to design scalable, intuitive APIs will be key to enabling seamless connections between Zinc and our partners
- Our cloud infrastructure supports everything Zinc does. Your familiarity with AWS, ensures our integrations remain fast and reliable at scale
- You’ll work with a variety of partner APIs, from JSON to XML. Understanding their quirks will help you build robust connections that “just work.”
- This role is for someone who thrives with high ownership. You’ll be trusted to lead integration projects end-to-end, taking initiative to make decisions and drive impact
- You’ll be customer-facing, explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Clear communication ensures smoother onboarding and happier partners
- While you’re the solo owner of integrations, you’ll be deeply embedded in cross-functional work with the Partnerships and Product teams. It’s social, just in a different way
- Every integration is unique, and not all conversations with partners will be easy. You’ll need to navigate challenges with a cool head and a problem-solving mindset
Desirable
- Experience working with HRTech APIs (Workday, Workable, PinPoint, etc.)
- Workday Integration Badge or similar certifications
- Background in backend engineering with a focus on integrations
What the job involves
- As a Product Engineer, Integrations Specialist, you’ll be at the forefront of Zinc’s growth, leading technical integrations that connect our platform with key partner systems
- This is a high-impact, high-autonomy role, perfect for engineers who love solving complex API challenges while also engaging with customers and partners
- Think 60/40 engineering to customer-facing work, balancing deep technical challenges with the excitement of directly collaborating with partners
- Work on cutting-edge integration projects that improve hiring workflows for our customers
- Own the end-to-end development of integrations, from API design to deployment
- Have the autonomy to define how integrations are built and scaled while being embedded in a highly collaborative, cross-functional team
- Interact directly with external partners and enterprise customers, ensuring seamless onboarding and best-in-class integrations. 🔗
- Reporting To: Sanjeev, VP Engineering
- Design and implement secure, scalable APIs and webhooks to connect Zinc with HRTech platforms (ATS, HRIS, etc.). 🏗️
- Work with external APIs (JSON, XML, REST, GraphQL) to ensure reliable, real-time data syncing
- Improve Zinc’s API usability, enabling seamless integrations built by external partners. 💼
- Own technical onboarding for enterprise customers and troubleshoot integration challenges. 📲
- Collaborate with external developers and guide them through Zinc’s API capabilities
- Provide technical support during partner integration onboarding, ensuring a smooth experience
- Work closely with the Partnerships team to evolve Zinc’s API, making it developer-friendly and scalable
- Improve API documentation and ensure external teams can integrate with minimal friction
- Work cross-functionally with Partnerships, Account Management, and Customer Success to align integration priorities
- Drive solutions that balance technical feasibility with customer needs and business goals. 💪
