Engineering Manager, PermitFlow

• 7+ years in software engineering, with 4+ years in leadership roles
• Strong alignment with PermitFlow’s culture. You are comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment, where ambiguity is common
• Proven experience managing and scaling teams in a startup
• Strong communication skills for working with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience with agile methodologies and continuous improvement
• Ideally, you’re based in NYC or willing to relocate for hybrid work. We’re currently hybrid in-person 3 days/week in our NYC office

• We are seeking a talented Engineering Manager to lead and grow our engineering team, driving development and delivery of our innovative construction permitting software
• This role is crucial in helping the team scale, achieve technical excellence, and ensure that PermitFlow continues to provide valuable, efficient solutions to our customers
• Lead and manage engineers, promoting a culture of continuous learning and collaboration. Conduct regular 1:1s, feedback sessions, and career development opportunities
• Set direction and anticipate scaling challenges through thoughtful technical and personnel planning. Define priorities, track KPIs, and manage technical debt while aligning with business goals
• Collaborate with product, design, and cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, set timelines, and ensure timely delivery of software features. Manage agile processes to maintain high velocity and efficiency
• Ensure best practices in architecture, system design, and code quality. Oversee the scalability, reliability, and security of systems and infrastructure
• Work closely with stakeholders, including product, finance, and customer success teams, to prioritize feature development and enhance the customer experience
• Lead the hiring process to grow the engineering team. Provide mentorship and career development for team members, including junior managers
