Who you are
- We're looking for an experienced and highly motivated Senior Back-End Engineer, based in on the East Coast of the United States, who thrives in fast-moving environments and is passionate about building great software
- 5+ years of experience working as a back-end engineer, with deep expertise in Python and Azure
- Proven ability to thrive in fast-moving teams, delivering high-quality software independently and efficiently
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to creatively balance speed and quality-knowing when to engineer a scalable solution and when to execute quickly

What the job involves
- As a Senior Back-End Engineer on the UpLink team, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our product. You’ll work closely with the founding team to build and enhance the capabilities of UpLink, delivering intuitive and high-performing experiences for our users
- Own the back-end development lifecycle for new features—from architecture to deployment—delivering scalable and reliable capabilities for UpLink
- Collaborate with the team to design and implement event-driven, cloud-native backend systems that support UpLink’s document management and processing needs
- Build and optimize APIs, including public-facing APIs, to enable seamless integrations with external systems and partners
- Scale and enhance UpLink’s infrastructure to handle increasing volumes of documents and workflows efficiently
- Design and implement robust data pipelines to process and analyze documents in an automated and event-driven manner
- Maintain and improve the backend architecture, making thoughtful technical decisions in collaboration with the team to support long-term performance and reliability
- Work closely with front-end engineers to ensure seamless API interactions and an optimal end-to-end user experience
- Collaborate with other backend engineers across different product lines to align on best practices, architecture decisions, and shared infrastructure components
- Drive technical excellence, implementing best practices, reviewing code, and mentoring other engineers as needed
- Contribute to the culture of a fast-moving startup, taking initiative and helping to shape the direction of UpLink’s engineering efforts

Our take
With data having become a commodity in and of itself, infrastructure must be enforced so as to validate and contextualize it. Datasnipper does just that with its automated data validation platform for auditors.
Repetitive manual work in auditing means decreased efficiency and slower results. Auditors must reconcile data by cross-referencing it with that of older systems, verifying this data with documentation such as invoices, bank statements and previous contracts. Datasnipper’s platform uses intelligent automation that translates these documents directly into Excel spreadsheets, helping auditors make informed decisions at a faster rate.
Initially launched from Bootstrap, Datasnipper has successfully raised to Series B and has had a strong 2024. It doubled its revenue and customer base and reached Unicorn Status, indicating the auditing industry’s embrace of AI as a tool.
