Who you are
- 5+ years of sales leadership experience, ideally in a high-tech or SaaS company targeting mid-market and enterprise customers
- Track record of success achieving or exceeding net new revenue growth targets
- Strong coaching and people leadership abilities. Experience building high-performing sales teams

What the job involves
- Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Sales, the VP will lead a team of Directors to oversee the Account Executives focused on net new customer acquisition and revenue growth
- The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of exceeding revenue targets and building high-performing sales teams
- You will be setting the vision and strategy for our net new revenue growth with our Sales organization—we believe that pipeline management and standardized sales processes are the backbone of our ongoing sales and business success
- You will partner with the sales leadership team to identify opportunities for process improvement and facilitate the successful implementation of new sales strategies to ensure a well-defined and efficient sales process
- The ideal candidate will have great attention to detail, coupled with an ability to collaborate flawlessly across the organization—particularly with Sales, Marketing, Strategic Partnerships, CFL and Finance
- Develop and execute the sales strategy to achieve aggressive net new revenue growth targets from mid-market and enterprise customers
- Build and lead a team of skilled Account Executives, hiring top talent and developing existing team members
- Establish effective sales processes, methodologies, and enablement programs to drive sales productivity and performance. Continuously optimize to improve sales efficiency and close rates
- Define sales territories, quotas, compensation plans, and metrics to drive the right selling behaviors and new customer acquisition
- Conduct regular pipeline reviews, coach Account Executives, and oversee deal progression to meet revenue targets
- Partner with Marketing to align lead generation and campaign efforts with sales priorities. Provide input into ideal customer profiles, messaging, and positioning
- Track key performance metrics like new revenue growth, average deal size, sales velocity, win rates, and customer acquisition costs. Report on progress and address gaps
- Build relationships with customers and industry influencers to strengthen the company's brand and grow the sales pipeline
- Stay up-to-date with relevant sales technologies, tools, and processes to enhance team productivity
- Assist in all facets of sales planning, including regular updates to quotas, headcount, and sales plan
- Drive analytical support and provide to leadership to improve strategies, customer and prospect coverage models and sales team configurations to optimize sales effectiveness
- Maintain key performance metrics and dashboards that help the sales organization focus on performance drivers
Our take
Law firms, corporate legal teams and government agencies are under increasing pressure to handle more work, more data and tighter timelines, all without increasing costs. As a result, demand is growing for legal technology that can automate routine tasks, organize complex information and also help laywers work faster and more accurately. AI has become a key part of this change, and today it's hard to find interest in legal tech that doesn't have AI at its core.
Filevine is a good example of how this shift is playing out, Founded in 2014, the company began as a software-as-a-service platform helping legal teams manage cases, documents, billing and payments in one place. Over time though, Filevine has expanded into what it now calls a Legal Operating Intelligence System, bringing intelligence into the full lifecycle of a legal matter. And in recent years, the focus has moved strongly toward AI, as most of the company's revenue comes from its AI products rather than from its original software.
This growth shows just how well its aligned with where the market is heading, and with $400M from major investors, it continues to expand its platform, adding AI tools that connect across legal workflows. By bringing together case management, depositions, contracts and drafting into a single system, Filevine has positioned itself as a central operating platform for modern legal teams.
