Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of experience in software development
- Strong proficiency in C#/.NET, with a deep understanding of object-oriented design and modern backend development principles
- Proven experience working with Typescript in server-side or full-stack environments
- Expertise in building and maintaining REST and GraphQL APIs in production systems
- Practical knowledge of DynamoDB and MySQL, with the ability to choose the right tool for the job and optimize for performance and scalability
- A proactive mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for crafting clean, efficient, and maintainable code
- Experience leading backend initiatives and mentoring engineering teams in fast-paced, dynamic environments
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms like AWS (preferred) or GCP
What the job involves
- As a Principal Software Engineer (Backend), you’ll lead the design, development, and optimization of some of our core backend services
- In this pivotal role, you will influence architectural decisions, mentor engineering teams, and help scale our platform to meet the growing needs of our users
- This is an opportunity to shape the technical foundation of a fast-growing, product-driven organization while working with a modern tech stack
- Design scalable and performant backend systems that support a wide range of product features, e.g., integrations between Wealth.com and other platforms
- Architect robust APIs and data pipelines, ensuring seamless integration across services and platforms
- Implement backend logic using C#/.NET with high standards for reliability, maintainability, and with frontend engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver cohesive and user-centric solutions
- Optimize data storage and retrieval using both relational (MySQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB) databases.Mentor and guide junior and senior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
- Lead technical planning sessions and participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge
- Integrate GraphQL services efficiently with our existing infrastructure, ensuring consistent and performant data access
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices to continually improve our backend capabilities
