Role
Who you are
- You must be comfortable talking to everyone from engineers to executives
- A bachelor’s degree and 5 years of professional work experience in a technical sales or engineering role
- This position requires a passion for continuous learning and professional development, so you must be very motivated and love to learn
Desirable
- Experience scripting (shell, python)
- Linux system administration
- Understanding of fundamental networking principles
- Passion for automating manual processes
- Hands on experience with container applications (Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)
- Hands on experience with a public cloud platform such as GCP, AWS, or Azure
- Understanding of value based selling frameworks and complex enterprise sales cycles
- Excellent English language skills (written and verbal)
What the job involves
- As a Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for providing value based technical support for prospects, communicating with sales teams, and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Your day-to-day tasks will include demonstrating product functionality, resolving technical issues, and delivering exceptional customer service
- You will be a key part to making our customer's journey successful
- As part of this, you will be resolving complex technical issues in a wide area of domains, applications, and industries
- In addition to your technical skills, an important aspect of this role is communication with internal and external parties
- Your direct contact with customers will be very valuable for providing user feedback
- You will contribute to the continuous improvement of our products by sharing these use cases with Product teams
- Lead the technical sales process, and work closely with Account Executives to close new business
- Run technical demos to better understand customer needs and determine if they align with Instruqt’s value
- Ability to execute detail oriented POV engagements
- Resolve highly-technical issues for new and existing customers
- Create and maintain training material, including examples, documentation, and videos
Our take
While generic demonstration and sales pitches can help sell a SaaS product, in practice many companies want to know how it will work in their specific environment before they will commit. Instruqt exists to make this possible with a virtual sandbox which allows companies to demonstrate their products in a prospective buyer's software environment without the huge expense of time and resources this would usually involve.
Putting buyers in the driving seat like this is good for both parties - nothing is worse than a product that doesn't work as advertised - and Instruqt's customers are reporting large reduction s in sales times, a greatly reduced onboarding time for new users (they are already familiar with the product before buying), and a greater than three times return on investment. Some of Instruqt's clients include mongoDB, Datadog and Okta.
After being bootstrapped since its founding, Instruqt has closed a Series A funding round led by Blossom Capital. This will be used to accelerate Instruqt's already impressive growth, to further develop its product and increase its headcount. As the software as a service continues to boom, Instruqt is well placed to grow a very significant presence in this space.
