Who you are
- You must be ready for technical discussions with engineers, and demonstrate the value of Contextual AI in business discussions with directors and executives
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (Master's or Ph.D. preferred)
- Experience working in enterprise SaaS, AI/ML, infrastructure, or similar industries in a technical capacity with end-customer engagement
- Proficiency in data infrastructure and modern machine learning tools (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow, transformers)
- Proficiency with coding languages Python, Typescript or similar languages at a production level
- Demonstrated experience providing technical guidance and support in customer calls & interactions, addressing product usage needs, and resolving issues
- Strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to demonstrate professional polish and a high level of technical credibility when speaking with both executives and engineers
- Self-starter and ability to operate independently and at high-velocity
- Clear customer empathy and intellectual curiosity
What the job involves
- Contextual AI is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to be part of the GTM team.
- This team is responsible for selling into Global 2000 organizations deploying generative AI solutions in production
- As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you’ll be a trusted technical advisor and subject matter expert for our prospects and customers, understanding requirements, designing demos, and driving business value
- You’ll accomplish this by working closely with customers to identify use cases, scope out needs, design pipelines, and help drive the adoption of Contextual AI’s technology
- You will be a subject matter expert on AI industry trends and best practices. You will work directly with customers to align Contextual AI’s products to their top use cases
- You will help distill feedback from customers and help improve Contextual AI’s products while working with the product and engineering team
- You will own the technical aspects of the sales cycle, driving the technology evaluation processes to highlight Contextual AI’s differentiation, clarify the business value to the customer, and ensure our customers’ success with our products
- You will act as a trusted advisor to our customers, while also building relationships with technical stakeholders
- Scope customer trials and projects. Work with the engineering and product teams to design and implement POC requirements that satisfy customer needs but are also technically feasible
- Create and deliver specialized technical demos according to the customers
- Act as the “Voice of the Customer” - Regularly engaging them on status calls, educating on product roadmap and QBRs, and managing escalations, while influencing our roadmap in partnership with our Product team
- Interpret complex problems, create simple solutions and collaborate closely with prospects, channel partners and our sales team to deliver winning solutions
Our take
Founded by former Facebook research scientists, Contextual AI is building customisable, scalable and trustworthy Large Language Models for use by enterprises. Its main product is a tool to improve model performance so that users can build production-grade AI systems.
The backbone of this product is a technology that feeds curated information into AI models so that the LLM can have more context and up-to-date information. This helps to minimise AI “hallucinations”, an increasingly common problem for models like ChatGPT.
Contextual AI is currently working with companies in the finance, technology and media sectors. Since its impressive 2024 funding, it will no doubt seek growth, perhaps into other sectors. Either way, as AI models become more and more common in enterprise use, the future looks bright for Contextual AI.
