Who you are
- Comfortable in a dynamic startup environment
- Proven experience (at least 8 years) in software development
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing and mentoring technical teams
- Experience in architecting and managing large-scale technology systems
- Deep understanding of modern software development methodologies, service-oriented architecture
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, able to navigate complex technical challenges
- Exceptional communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present ideas to executive leadership
- Experience with agile development practices and project management tools
- Strong communication skills in English

What the job involves
- As an Engineering Leader, of Growth Zone, you will be a key member of our engineering leadership team, reporting directly to the VP of Engineering
- Your primary responsibility will be to lead and shape our growth strategy, overseeing its development, deployment, and maintenance
- You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, and Operations, to ensure our platform aligns with business goals, technological advancements, and market demands
- Define and execute the long-term vision and roadmap for the growth, considering both technical and business aspects
- Serve as a subject matter expert for our eCommerce Experience
- Owning the design and implementation of platform features within our Javascript stack that engages customers and has a meaningful impact on people’s lives
- Iterating on new and existing features to improve user experience and performance
- Lead the teams fostering innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to make informed decisions
- Contribute technically to projects by being a hands-on coder, removing roadblocks, and repairing technical issues
- Partner with members of Product, Growth, Marketing, Customer Experience, and other teams to continually refine and improve our product in an agile process
- Understand the critical components of non-functional performance metrics to web/mobile metrics and partnering on new funnel capabilities
- Helping create the API ecosystem so that we can extend our experience/funnel to strategic partners

CookUnity is a meal subscription service which connects consumers with some of the country's best known chefs, including Esther Choi, Chris Ratel and Andy Mendez. Consumers can select from a menu of handcrafted meals that cater to a wide variety of palates and dietary preferences. Believing that healthy food fuels stronger communities, CookUnity contributes to an ongoing partnership and donation with the Food Bank For New York City.
The New York founded business hit the headlines for its upward trajectory in 2020, where it secured 15.5 million in funding and saw an expected boost not just in demand, but in the supply of top culinary talent at a time when restaurants were struggling.
While there’s a wide world of meal plan delivery services, CookUnity has a jump on much of the competition as it’s the first service that connects such eminent chefs directly with the customer. This has allowed it to expand across much of the US, and it now prepares over 10 million meals annually for its 50,000 subscribers.
With most of the urban US now covered by its service, CookUnity is moving into the next phase of its growth, expanding the range of sellers and food products on the platform, and has plans to offer family-sized portions, brekfast options and cooking classes using its existing physical and digital infrastructure. This will enable it to grow into an all-in-one meal subscription service over the coming years.
