Role
Who you are
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT, business analytics or similar
- 5+ years’ experience in software development and clear interest in technology
- Experience working with a Junifer Product, ideally gained from working with a utilities provider, consultancy, or government body
- Commercial acumen and understanding of key drivers behind a B2B software business
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Proven ability to understand and communicate technical and business concepts

- The Business Analyst plays a pivotal role in proactively monitoring changes within the energy industry and evaluating their impact on Gentrack's core products and overall business deliverables
- As a subject matter expert, the role involves close collaboration with Product and Engineering Delivery Teams to seamlessly integrate insights into industry shifts into ongoing product development
- A profound understanding of the energy sector, regulatory frameworks, and market trends is essential for this position
- Effective communication skills are a must for articulating the implications of impending changes on Gentrack's products and business
- Beyond analysis, the role encompasses identifying opportunities for proactive product development in response to emerging industry trends and challenges. In essence, the Business Analyst is instrumental in aligning Gentrack with the dynamic landscape of the evolving energy industry
- Cultivate a comprehensive understanding of potential impacts of industry changes on Gentrack’s core products and services
- Identify and communicate potential opportunities for new product innovations to key stakeholders
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies to provide insights into potential opportunities or challenges that could impact Gentrack software products
- Provide support to Product Owners, Product Managers, and Delivery teams in prioritizing and constructing solutions aligned with industry changes
- Provide strategic input into product direction regarding compatibility with upcoming industry changes
- Gather and analyse customer feedback on existing software products to identify areas for improvement and inform future development efforts which are aligned with industry and market changes
- Evaluate the scalability of software solutions to ensure they can accommodate growth and increased usage without compromising performance
- Work closely with customer support teams to understand and address reported issues, facilitating a feedback loop for continuous improvement
- Work within Agile frameworks (such as Scrum or Kanban), participating in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and other Agile ceremonies to facilitate iterative and incremental development
- Explore the detail of complex changes and translate them into digestible and easy to understand material for technical and non-technical teams
