Who you are
- Passionate and motivated. Driven, with an entrepreneurial spirit. Resourceful, innovative, forward thinking and committed
- In depth knowledge of, and a minimum of 5 years of experience with key platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X, Youtube, Snap, Tik Tok, and other social media platforms
- 3-5 years of experience leading a team
- While this is a 10-6 in-office role, availability to work on evenings and weekends will be required
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Asana, Slack, Sprout, Canva, and other workplace tools
- A passion for events, marketing, and social media
- Clear and persuasive copywriting skills with the ability to adjust based on different formats, brands, and tones
- An exceptional ability to multi-task, stay organized, and manage multiple tight deadlines and high volume across a team, while staying adaptable to changing priorities and project needs
- Demonstrated ability to build and develop professional relationships
- Strong analytical skills to create impactful reporting, identify insights, and make data-driven decisions
- A creative thinker and self-starter who thrives in a high-pressure environment and has the ability to take direction while also displaying strong personal initiative

What the job involves
- This is a full-time role leading the social media team
- In this role, you will work closely with the Vice President of Marketing to develop and execute the social media strategies across a variety of owned channels
- You will guide the team responsible for organic social posting, social content development, and customer service
- Your work will contribute to the success of key venue properties and a large volume of high-profile concerts and events, ranging from clubs to stadiums across Canada
- Developing an elevated social media strategy for channels across Canada, inclusive of several promoter and venue profiles
- Creating and executing content plans suitable for a variety of genres and artists, markets, and venue properties
- Posting across several channels with high volume, high public visibility, and quick pace of output, always ensuring required approvals are in place
- Managing operations and providing leadership and professional guidance to the social media team
- Working in collaboration with Marketing leadership to achieve department goals and promote a collaborative team environment
- Identifying and proactively addressing operational and strategic opportunities within the social media space
- Posting night of show content for concerts, events, and festivals, including on weekends
- Serving as a key representative of the Marketing leadership team, developing relationships with internal and external stakeholders including key contacts at major social platforms
- Creating, initiating, and supporting new opportunities to drive the business forward through social media
- Responsiveness on high level issues in real time, including during evenings and weekends
- Managing, troubleshooting, and escalating customer service inquiries
- Presenting regular social media reporting to Leadership, along with data-driven recommendations based on results
- Staying current on relevant social media platforms and opportunities that would be appropriate for Live Nation Canada’s channels
- Collaborating with, and supporting, other departments and areas of the business
- Working within shared calendars, tracking documents, and project management platforms
- Participating in special projects and performing other related duties as requested
Our take
Live Nation is the world's leading live entertainment company, sitting at the top of the market in live events and ticketing. Formed in 2005, it is a major international company, with key business segments made up of concerts, ticketing, and sponsorship and advertising.
Despite its dominant position in the market, the company saw an 84% drop in revenue during 2020 and the closure of live events. Since then, however, demand has been stronger than ever for their ticket sales. This is a reflection that live events remain a clear priority for consumers and has been further reflected in Live Nation's acquisitions of companies - like Goodlive - that complement and bolster Live Nation's portfolio.
In addition to live events, a key area to watch for Live Nation will be the rise of online concert streaming, like that undertaken by competitors such as Driift. Major festivals such as Glastonbury have trialled online concerts with mixed reviews. If it proves successful, this could be a major new section of the entertainment market and a big potential part of Live Nation's future ventures.
