5+ years of experience in data science or analytics roles
Experience defining evaluation and metrics frameworks
Strong SQL and Python skills
Experience investigating ambiguous problems end-to-end
Ability to operate independently and influence stakeholders
Clear communication of trade-offs and insights

What the job involves

You’ll be a Senior Data Scientist on the Data Foundation & AI team at Plaid.
In this role, you will define and operationalize quality measurement across our enrichment and AI systems, ensuring our products deliver reliable, high-impact outcomes for customers.
You’ll own and evolve evaluation frameworks, investigate customer-facing quality issues, and build automation to accelerate iteration and improvement cycles. Partnering closely with product and engineering, you’ll use data-driven insights to inform roadmap decisions and raise the bar for quality across our AI-powered experiences
Defining quality metrics that shape product direction
Turning ambiguous customer complaints into structured investigations
Building evaluation systems that scale
Measuring AI system effectiveness in a principled way
Automating workflows using modern AI tools
Influencing roadmap decisions through data

Our take

Plaid builds infrastructure that allows consumers to interact with their bank account on the web through a number of third-party applications, like Venmo, Robinhood, Coinbase, Acorns and LendingClub.

Plaid has integrated with over 12,000 financial institutions in the US, Canada, the UK and Europe. And about a quarter of people living in North America with bank accounts have linked with Plaid through at least one of the hundreds of apps that leverage Plaid’s application program interfaces (APIs).

The platform allows companies to create financial services applications without having to hire their own team of engineers to build out a tool that connects apps to its users’ bank accounts. This is very valuable in a world where there are increasing number of fintechs, so the demand for Plaid's services are only going to grow.
