Role
Who you are
- 15+ years of progressive experience in corporate tax, including extensive international exposure and leadership responsibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA and/or Master’s in Taxation required
- Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, ASC 740, OECD guidelines, global tax laws, and transfer pricing principles
- Proven success in shaping enterprise tax strategies, leading global teams, and navigating complex audits
- Advanced knowledge of tax technologies and ERP systems (e.g., OneSource, SAP, Oracle)
- Exceptional executive presence, communication, and cross-functional leadership capabilities
What the job involves
- Defines and leads the company’s global tax strategy, including planning, compliance, and audit defense across all jurisdictions
- Oversees Global Tax Operations, including income tax, indirect tax, transfer pricing, and tax provision under ASC 740
- Oversees overall tax compliance, including preparation financial statements in compliance with USGAAP and SEC requirements
- Oversees compliance with local tax authorities, engages with external tax consultants for timely preparation and filing of tax returns
- Ability to manage team in India and work across time zones to deliver timely compliance, reporting and filings
- Advises executive leadership on tax implications of strategic business initiatives, M&A, international expansions, and entity structuring
- Ensures full compliance with U.S. and international tax regulations, including OECD and BEPS requirements
- Leads relationships with global tax authorities, external advisors, and auditors to manage and resolve complex issues
- Monitors evolving global tax legislation and proactively positions the company for upcoming regulatory changes
- Drives automation, standardization, and transformation of tax processes and systems to improve operational efficiency and risk mitigation
- Develops and mentors a high-performing global tax team and promotes a culture of strategic thinking, compliance, and collaboration
Our take
Car dealerships suffer from an inefficiency problem. The paperwork and administration required to complete a sale requires dealers to manage a disjointed set of various software applications. Tekion is offering an enticing remedy - a cloud-based automotive retail system that integrates the various software applications in a single infrastructure.
Competition has been strong, with rivals CDK Global and Reynolds & Reynolds offering a competitive raft of features, and benefiting from strong prior relationships with dealerships. Tekion, however, has nevertheless secured customers for the software in 28 states - likely in part due to the efficiency of partnering with a single growing service as opposed to a disparate spread.
This momentum shows no signs of slowing either, as Tekion has attracted attention from major players like CMC, Chrysler and Chevrolet. By streamlining dealership operations into a single platform, the company is proving that even in a crowded market, innovation and simplicity can win. Its recent release of AI agents and an AI interface also shows it is moving with the times.
