What the job involves
- Reports To: CEO
- As the Chief of Staff & CEO Communications lead at Ironclad, you will partner closely with the CEO to shape the company's narrative and drive strategic priorities
- This hybrid role combines executive communications with operational leadership, placing you at the center of Ironclad's most critical initiatives
- You will craft and execute a cohesive communications strategy, manage cross-functional projects, and optimize the CEO's focus for maximum impact
- You will amplify the CEO’s voice across channels, ensure organizational alignment, and keep initiatives moving forward while ensuring the Office of the CEO runs seamlessly
- Work closely with the CEO to prioritize initiatives that will drive the company's success
- Lead cross-functional projects from ideation to completion, ensuring alignment across teams and timely delivery of key milestones
- Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy for the CEO
- Draft and refine all written materials including speeches, op-eds, blog posts, social media content, and long form thought leadership
- Research relevant industry topics, draft compelling narratives, and position the CEO as an industry leader
- Ensure all communications reflect the CEO’s voice and align with Ironclad’s mission and strategic goals
- Lead the development of content for internal CEO communications, including Company All Hands meetings, leadership updates, and other key events
- Partner with internal teams to ensure employees feel informed, inspired, and connected to the company’s mission
- Prepare the CEO for external appearances (media interviews, podcasts, conferences, customer events, and keynote speeches)
- Develop briefing materials and coordinate with external partners to maximize the impact of each engagement
- Serve as the point person for coordinating external content opportunities, ensuring a consistent narrative
- Support the CEO in maintaining an engaging social media presence
- Draft posts, engage with key audiences, and help build a social media calendar that keeps the CEO visible and connected to employees, customers, and industry peers
- Serve as a thought partner to the CEO on key decisions, providing well-researched recommendations and synthesizing information from across the organization
- Attend meetings, capture action items, and follow up to drive accountability
- Directly manage and support the CEO's Executive Assistant
- Ensure management of the CEO’s schedule, in partnership with his Executive Assistant, to ensure that time is being allocated effectively across the company's priorities
- Set agendas for meetings, facilitate discussions to align on outcomes, and ensure effective follow-through on decisions

Business contracting is often inefficient and messy, with approvals required from various stakeholders and many processes still paper-based. Ironclad is a platform that digitises, automates, and streamlines contract workflows, allowing legal teams to focus on legal work rather than paperwork. Ironclad’s platform features collaborative tools that facilitate business operations and extract and catalog contract metadata, making information easier to access and act upon. Its enterprise customers include Dropbox, Mastercard, Pixar, Fox, and L’Oréal.
Despite its success, Ironclad faces competition in the $3 billion contract lifecycle management industry from major players like DocuSign and emerging ones like Contractbook. The company recently announced Ironclad Signature, marking its entry into the $25 billion eSignature market. The new feature speeds up the signature process by an estimated 80% and provides summaries and approval histories to users. This new tool is expected to strengthen Ironclad's position in the sell-side contract lifecycle management market.
Additionally, Ironclad introduced value-based pricing, charging only for completed, signed agreements, unlike other providers who charge for every signature packet sent out. Ironclad, backed by investors like Accel, Sequoia, Y Combinator, and BOND, remains committed to innovating and maintaining its leadership in the contract lifecycle management space.
