What the job involves
- We’re hiring a Chief of Staff to be a genuine right-hand to our Founder and CEO, Szymon
- Your work will be varied, naturally, but the objective will persist: to deeply integrate with Szymon and amplify his impact inside and outside of the business
- You will help build conviction amongst stakeholders. Part one is sparring - the internal refinement between you and Szymon. To get to the kernel of truth you’ll explore, debate, dismantle and rebuild ideas together. Part two is communication with stakeholders - investors, customers, prospects and the team. Here you’ll do things like grow investor confidence with board decks and memos and work on storytelling across the business
- You will scope bets and lead discovery. We’re constantly horizon scanning, which has led to us setting up an entity in Ireland and more recently in Brazil. You’ll help Szymon refine these ideas into proposals through discovery work and turn them into compelling, well-reasoned narratives when the time is right to double down. These bets can also be exploratory, creative partnership conversations with well-known brands, which can include pitch decks, travelling to big pitches, and helping close deals
- You will be the eyes and ears. Ultimately, your success in this role will depend on how well you can understand Szymon, but also the inner workings of Ramp. Part of your job is to know where there is an opportunity, or risk to mitigate, where Szymon’s involvement can 10x quality or momentum. You’ll see everything he sees and more, and you’ll help him decide what’s to do, not do, delegate, or defer. A transparent interceptor and an amplifier
- You’ll come into an unusual combination of ambition, urgency, capital, warmth and belief. Szymon really believes in the power of this role to make an impact. He previously had a Chief of Staff, Roza, who moved on to be VP Ops, so he knows what good looks like (and has made plenty of mistakes to learn from). Ultimately you’ll be welcomed into front row seats at the bleeding edge of web3 with Szymon. Ramp is building the infrastructure to seamlessly connect Web3 with today’s global financial system - and to bring about the Internet of value. Through its core on- and off-ramp products, Ramp provides businesses and individuals across 150+ countries with a streamlined and smooth experience in converting between crypto and fiat currencies. It is already fully integrated with the world's major payment methods, including debit & credit cards, bank transfers, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
As crypto becomes more demystified to the ordinary person, and as its popularity among major trading institutions grows, trading of it in the financial markets is only going to increase. This gives Ramp a huge potential market for its products going forward.
That being said, standing out from the busy crowd of companies offering services relating to crypto will be difficult - as the market becomes more mainstream, more players will want a share. However, Ramp's major funding and recent on-ramp expansion may enable it to secure a big enough market share to strongly shut out its competition.
