- Experience as an engineer
- Ability to learn quickly and think about problems from different perspectives
- Ability to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and professionally
- Excellent oral and written communication skills—adept at communicating complex concepts to a variety of audiences, including senior leadership
- Passion for leveraging data informed analysis to define scalable solutions and drive prioritization
What the job involves
- This is a hybrid position located in Boulder, CO with at least 50% time in the office
- The Workday UI Platform team is looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager to focus on driving and delivering platform capabilities that power the Workday product portfolio
- You will work closely with cross-functional partners to develop and ship capabilities that empower customers to transform their businesses with AI, enable scale and speed to market, and drive product adoption and growth
- Identify high impact opportunities to evolve the existing platform leveraging AI
- Drive the product definition and delivery of platform capabilities
- Analyze data to establish, monitor and measure metrics that influence decision-making
- Function as a central resource with research, design, development, and automation engineers as the product(s) move through their lifecycle
- Identify and resolve issues that may hinder the team's ability to meet strategic and technical goals
- Research industry and technological trends
- Prioritize features, bugs and partner with engineering to manage remediation and release process
- Act as the ‘voice of the customer’ (and reason) during product development
- Promote high team morale, engagement and momentum

Workday is a cloud-based software vendor that provides management of workforces and finances. The company uses a single database for workforce management and financial management to offer integration and optimize business intelligence across companies. It has added to the packages and tools it offers over the years, providing analytic options that allow companies to combine third-party data with information collected by Workday.
Workday has acquired and paired up with many other companies to keep expanding its offering. In 2021, it purchased the employee feedback platform Peakon in response to the growing need for managers to be able to survey workers and collect satisfaction data without face-to-face meetings. The company has also bought and developed many financial tools and HR management tools.
The company’s goal is to provide end-to-end back office services and while there are other providers, such as UKG Pro and Ceridian HCM, Workday’s broad offering helps them to stand out. Though it faced a tough global market in 2023 and has shed some of its headcount, Workday has seen a 6.5% gain in value in the first quarter of 2024. It is now focusing on growth and developing the AI capabilities of its platform. .
