Role
Who you are
- A successful candidate will be passionate about collaborating with cross-functional colleagues to solve complex legal problems, and working at the cutting edge of law and technology
- Law degree (JD, LLB, LLM, etc.). You are locally licensed in your jurisdiction, and ideally you have legal experience in multiple jurisdictions
- 10+ years of legal experience, at a top law firm or in-house, with 5+ years of in-house product counseling experience
- Experience with intermediary liability and online safety issues, including compliance with international regulations like the EU Digital Services Act and UK Online Safety Act
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent judgment and analytical skills
- Ability to assess risk strategically and help clients manage risk while achieving their goals
- Program/project management skills, including the ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with product, engineering, and other cross-functional teams
What the job involves
- As Associate General Counsel, you will work closely with Reddit’s consumer product and engineering teams to provide legal guidance on a wide range of legal issues, including privacy, copyright, intermediary liability, and content safety
- Advise Reddit’s consumer product teams through all stages of product development on how to navigate potential legal risks
- Analyze new and existing regulations that are relevant to Reddit’s consumer products, and work with product teams to translate legal requirements into product requirements and implement those requirements
- Serve as a strategic partner to help product teams anticipate and plan for future regulatory requirements
- Develop strong cross-functional relationships and deep product knowledge
