Role
Who you are
- Getting time with stressed out GP practice staff (Lead generation)
- Targeting the person youâre looking to speak to (Segmentation)
- Writing compelling copy
- Thinking creatively of ways to get time with practices
- Intuiting the needs and wants of GP practices
- Using data to run experiments about whats working and whats not
- Speaking with practice staff, and articulating how technology can help them
- Getting their hands dirty and getting stuff done
- Ideally youâve worked in the NHS already
- Nice if youâve worked in a start-up/on something entrepreneurial before
- Worth noting: Please note that we work in person at our office in a London GP surgery and weâre unable to sponsor employees who require a UK visa at the moment
What the job involves
- Day-to-day:
- Time will be split between outreaching to practice managers and GP partners to engage them and book a demo (lead gen) plus talking to potential customers, encouraging them to sign up (growth calls)
- Youâll also have time, and will be expected, to experiment and innovate the existing processes according to metrics - always working to find the optimised approach, and once discovered how to capitalise on this knowledge
- As with most growing companies, your role in 6 months will probably look quite different to the one in this description! This will depend on what we need, where weâre struggling as a team, what you end up being great at and what gives you the most energy
- Donât apply if you want a âstrategicâ role. We need someone who wants to roll their sleeves up from day one doing the unsexy stuff needed to move metrics. Thereâll be plenty of opportunities for development as weâre a fast growing company with more challenges to solve than people to solve them. But donât expect to spend too much time facilitating workshops or making slides
- Expected experience plus skills:
- Number one most important thing! Deep motivation and care for NHS primary care - weâre looking for people who deeply understand the pressures of working in NHS GP surgeries and can empathise with our customers
- Experience in a project or growth role, where youâve been accountable for the outcome of the task you were trying to achieve
- Lateral thinking abilities to find new ways of problem-solving, when options seem scarce
- Goal-driven and laser focus on reaching the numbers we need, transparent when things arenât going to plan and adapting to change the trajectory
- Prioritise sensibly without becoming side-tracked by newer tasks or seemingly urgent tasks
- Curiosity in everyone you interact with - customers, potential customers, team mates, stakeholders, a need to understand what makes people tick
- Similarly you can adapt your communication style to engage whatever audience you are trying to reach, through whatever mode - writing, video, face to face

- If the chat goes well, then you'll be invited for a virtual assessment and structured interview 9th or 10th November.
- The successful candidates from this stage will be invited into the practice to meet the team in person, experience the product, and eat! We know the interview process goes both ways, so here you'll be able to get a feel for the team and ask questions

Our take
The NHS is one of the few totally publicly-funded healthcare services in the world, that has treated millions of people since 1948. However, growing pressures from an ageing population, higher patient expectations and the after-effects of the pandemic are having a negative effect on the systemâs ability to serve patients with the care they deserve.
A major factor in the NHSâ struggles is the amount of time its staff spend on administrative tasks, which is what Healthtech-1 hopes to address. The company develops automation tools for repetitive tasks, such as patient registration, that free up healthcare workers to spend more time on treatment and care.
The company boasts support from NHS Digital as well as Innovate UK and Y-Combinator, and is clearly targeting a valuable problem. With its new patient registration product now live in over 500 NHS GP Practices, and its second product launched, it will be interesting to see how Healthtech-1 can further support the NHS moving forward.
