Who you are

  • Experience in Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau
  • Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights

  • We're working to be Earth's Best Employer. We're seeking a dynamic, organised self-starter to join our HR team, which we call People Experience and Technology (PXT)
  • As a HR Data Analyst, you will own provision of people data and analytics across several countries. You'll manage and develop our people data and reporting tools. You will:
  • Manage, standardise, and enhance the people reporting, dashboards, and analytics capabilities for the PXT organization
  • Enthusiastically drive HR optimisation and widespread adoption of self-service people analytics tools among HR and business leadership
  • Work closely with senior HR leaders, including HR Directors, to help business leaders make great people decisions at scale. Enable all levels of management to understand key people trends across their business
  • Communicate people performance data via analytics, dashboards, and business intelligence (BI) platforms. Make ad hoc recommendations to senior HR and their business Directors and VPs
  • Use data analysis of PXT metrics to drive business decisions. Tell stories with data and identify trends
  • Perform deep-dive analyses to quickly uncover root causes behind variances of key parameters over time
  • Clearly write up your recommendations in plain language so leaders can rapidly make quality, evidence-based choices
  • Partner with business intelligence engineers and data scientists to improve data assets, quality, metrics, and insights
  • You'll maintain and improve our people reporting and analytics tools. These provide business performance reporting for all corporate and operations business lines you support
  • Design data reporting solutions to track progress of our core people metrics, and clearly communicate findings to stakeholders
  • Analyse large data sets to provide detailed, robust reporting that supports our global corporate and operational business lines
  • Access, analyse, and interpret HR data to spot trends and understand business impacts. You'll present these insights to senior international HR leaders, including HR Directors
  • Work independently, and effectively, in a highly matrixed organization spanning many countries and global regions
  • You''ll work within the Global Central Operations (GCO) HR team

The company is present in numerous verticals, including cloud computing with Amazon Web Services, AI with its range of Alexa devices and a global marketplace more commonly referred to as 'the everything store'. Acquisitions include Ring, Twitch, Whole Foods Market, and IMDb.

More recently, Amazon has been focused on leading the "third wave in digital advertising". Many businesses are now shifting ad dollars to retailers, which before would have been spent with online media platforms. Amazon's seen great success in the space, with its revenue from advertising now higher than its Amazon Prime membership scheme, audiobooks and digital music combined. This growth is particularly impressive considering its digital ad rivals (like Snap, Alphabet, and Meta) have suffered declines due to wider macroeconomic factors and Apple's iOS privacy changes.

Despite its dominant market position, Amazon will continue to be challenged over the next decade, including sustaining AWS's cloud dominance in the face of Google and Microsoft. On top of this, the company's e-commerce division is facing profitability problems despite its 2023 post-IPO debt funding of 8 billion. It will need to find new ways to stay above their competitors.
