Role
Who you are
- You have 5+ years (or demonstrated equivalent) experience working in Product Design roles (UX, UI and Product Design) - ideally with a strong focus on building high performing Tooling applications (internally/externally). Experience in financial services/investing, B2B SaaS or FinTech is a big plus
- Understanding complex subject matters quickly and ability to zoom in & out with ease
- The ability to bridge the why with the Product design side, discussing tradeoffs and proactively suggesting ideas, aka a strong product mindset
- Productivity powerhouse, capable of rapidly developing and iterating on low-fidelity design concepts to support fast-paced project needs
- Vast, applied knowledge of core Product design concepts such as patterns and design systems and the ability to convey those to internal and external stakeholders
- Practical knowledge of the tools of the trade for efficient collaboration with Product Managers and Product Engineers (Figma, Miro, Storybook)
What the job involves
- You are responsible for defining and delivering the end-to-end design (UX and UI) for this new greenfield product. The External Service is a brand new product that will amend our Investment API offering by providing self-service customer support to scale with our enterprise expansion and enable further sales growth in the enterprise space.
- Your work will be instrumental in delivering a seamless, intuitive experience that positions Upvest as a reliable and enterprise-ready technology partner

- You will play a pivotal role in improving Upvest’s internal Operations Tooling by designing intuitive, purpose-built tools that are deeply aligned with user’ and operator’s needs. Through close collaboration with cross-functional partners, you will optimize existing workflows, introduce scalable design patterns, and develop reusable UX components that enable engineering teams to ship faster and with greater consistency
- Your work will directly improve the speed, accuracy, and satisfaction of our operations teams - turning internal tooling into a strategic advantage for Upvest’s growth
Our take
Upvest is a fintech startup that empowers financial services companies to provide their customers with access to a full range of financial assets, including stocks, ETFs and crypto products. Upvest's investment API integrates seamlessly with its customers existing systems and is designed to scale easily, freeing companies from the need to develop their own brokerage and custody infrastructure from scratch.
As one of the few companies in Germany that is licensed for both the custody of traditional securities and crypto, Upvest is able to provide its services across Europe. Its solution has been readily adopted by some major players in the space including Ginmon, Vivid and ABN AMRO.
Upvest is backed by a number of Europe's largest tech VCs (Earlybird, Notion Capital, Partech, HV Capital, ABN AMRO Ventures) alongside American investment monolith BlackRock. In 2023, it closed a VC investment round, which the company has claimed is one of the largest in the German fintech arena. This was followed up by an impressive Series C at the end of 2024, which is being used to grow its team, enhance its product and cement its presence in the UK.
