Who you are
- This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance leader who thrives in a fast-paced, mission driven tech environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred)
- Experience in Cleantech/ Greentech/ Renewables is a definite plus
- 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a CFO or similar executive-level role in a SaaS or technology company
- Proven experience with venture capital, private equity, or public company financing and reporting
- Expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and strategic planning
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP, and SaaS business models (MRR, ARR, LTV, CAC, etc.)
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, balancing strategic vision with tactical execution
- Experience with SaaS pricing strategies, subscription billing systems, and revenue recognition
- Successful track record of leading companies through fundraising, mergers, or acquisitions
- Familiarity with financial software tools (NetSuite, Adaptive Insights, Salesforce, etc.)
What the job involves
- We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial operations of our team based in North America
- As CFO, you will play a key role in shaping the financial strategy, driving profitable growth, and ensuring the company’s financial health
- You will partner with senior leadership to provide insights, recommendations, and operational direction
- Develop and execute the company’s long-term financial strategy in alignment with business objectives
- Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Drive key business metrics, financial modeling, and scenario planning to support strategic decision-making
- Oversee all financial operations including accounting, treasury, FP&A, tax, and audit
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements in Canada and the US
- Manage capital allocation, fundraising, and debt/equity financing strategies
- Build and maintain relationships with investors, financial institutions, and other stakeholders
- Serve as the key spokesperson to the investor community, providing financial guidance and updates
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Sales, Operations) to align financial goals with business initiatives
- Provide data-driven financial insights and recommendations to the SLT and Board of Directors
- Lead and develop the finance and accounting teams to achieve high performance and scalability
- Identify, evaluate, and mitigate financial risks while ensuring appropriate controls and procedures
- Oversee compliance with tax laws, corporate governance, and regulatory requirements
- Implement financial systems and technology to improve efficiency and scalability

The costs of future-proofing buildings in preparation for clean energy can often mount up to unsavory heights, acting as a deterrent for commercial and multi-family building owners who are considering upgrading their buildings to meet net-zero targets. SWTCH Energy is building a solution to make these upgrades more cost and energy-efficient.
Though there is a wealth of companies operating within the EV and electrical charging hardware market, SWTCH stands out thanks to its use of existing electrical infrastructure to upgrade buildings and charging ports. Working with both building managers and EV drivers, the company’s SWTCH Control intelligent load management system is a monitor for multi-residential buildings that controls the energy capacity of a building, making sure that any charging needs never exceed the limit.
SWTCH’s work with building managers to improve infrastructure has bagged the company plenty of clients across North America. In 2023, it partnered with software companies Sitetracker and AutoGrid to deploy its technology on the continent. 2024's funding round is being used to develop its ML and AI capabilities and scale its charger deployments across North America.
