What the job involves
- 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m
- Design and implement systems compatible with existing payments infrastructure within eBay
- Segment and design system layers to support componentized and layered software application development, including business functionality and database access
- Work with other specialists, managers, Product Management, QA, and Operations teams to develop innovative software solutions that meet market needs concerning functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules, and alignment to development goals and principles
- Estimate engineering effort, plan implementation, and rollout system changes
- Design code and test major features, as well as work jointly with other team members to deliver sophisticated software changes
- Identify technical areas for improvement and make detailed business cases for improvements or new areas of opportunities
- Execute as part of a multi-functional Agile team that rapidly delivers iterative value to customers
- Utilize hands-on experience in product development of validated algorithmic ideas and concepts in classification, text mining, and information retrieval technologies
- Telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance
