Role
Who you are
- The role requires superior analytical and presentation skills, as well as an outstanding ability to collaborate across a diverse range of stakeholders
- Bachelor’s and/or MBA in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Math, Computer Science or other quantitative field
- 1-3+ years post-MBA or 5-7+ years without an MBA of analytical experience in investment banking, management consulting or private equity and/or a corporate development, strategy or financial planning & analysis role at a leading technology company
- Strong financial skill set and grasp of corporate finance fundamentals, including experience with forecasting and business plan analysis
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including building and maintaining financial models
- Excellent ability to build and interpret information from large and varied data sets
- Superior verbal and written communications skills, particularly the ability to summarize analysis and present them concisely to a range of stakeholders, including executives
- Experience working in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment
- A proven ability to build collaborative working relationships with business partners
- A self-starter who is an enthusiastic team player
- Knowledge of BI tools and technologies (e.g., Tableau and/or Power BI) is a plus

It's a highly impactful team that focuses on business strategy, annual and long-term financial plans, KPI development and management, and corporate development activities

- HopSkipDrive is seeking a talented Finance & Strategy Manager to join the Finance & Strategy team
- As Finance & Strategy Manager you will own the forecasting and planning of long-term financial goals, growth initiatives, and corporate development activities
- You will work with teams across the company to create and maintain strategic / business plans, lead capital allocation analyses and more
- Manage essential elements of HopSkipDrive’s strategic planning process, including building and maintaining the long range plan, annual plan and rolling forecasts
- Own analyses that support growth such as evaluating strategic investments and initiatives by performing ROI analyses, market sizing and market entry planning for new markets, and pricing strategy by market and product
- Drive modeling for new business plans to help make strategic and operating decisions including go-to-market strategy formulation
- Review monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial results, prepare variance analyses, and communicate results to key internal and external stakeholders
- Analyze and interpret data to help decision making across the business and improve financial and operational strategy
- Lead competitive analysis and enhance understanding of our markets and customers
- Manage corporate development initiatives and investor relations
- Partner with functions in contract negotiations and various high impact special projects
- Prepare presentations for senior management and the Board of Directors and provide analyses and recommendations to assist with strategic decision-making
- Identify and execute process improvements and cost efficiency measures across the company
- Establish new processes that enable the company to scale efficiently
- Drive recurring meetings with business partners and leadership teams, providing both KPI and financial updates to ensure the organization delivers on plans
Our take
HopSkipDrive is an LA-based organization committed to eliminating transportation barriers for children, including those requiring special assistance. The organization was launched by three women who cite their "Mom DNA" as the reason for the success of HopSkipDrive, entwining their innate desire to help their own kids with the goal of making opportunities accessible to all children.
With all CareDrivers requiring a minimum of five years' experience in a caregiving field, HopSkipDrive operates on the principles of empathy, safety, and reliability. This is a smart rule to implement, as not only can they avoid those with inadequate experience, but they also ensure that employees are truly committed to helping children - the very reason the organization was founded. The company makes money by keeping a percentage of the fares it charges (CareDrivers get the rest).
HopSkipDrive collaborates with a number of social agencies and school districts, providing them with effective youth transportation solutions. Although the company is competing with existing transportation providers, such as national services, it continues to grow as a viable and fresh alternative, raising impressive funds and growing its leadership team with new hires. The company's results back up its success as well, saving 160,000 pounds of CO2 emissions in eight months after launching its SmartPooling ride-share product. Results and moves like these will allow it to expand its services and continue the modernization of school transportation.
