Role
Who you are
- You have 4+ years of experience working on frontend platforms with experience building extraordinary products with design, product, and/or other partners
- Experience with web, mobile, or cross-platform UI technologies
- Experience leading large technical projects with multiple team members involved
- Proficiency in shipping production web apps using a JavaScript framework such as React, AngularJS, or Vue.js
- Proficiency with tools such as NPM, grunt, gulp, karma, or similar
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar technical field or equivalent experience
- Experienced in building and deploying high-quality, user-focused products
- Focused on writing clear, readable, testable, modular, and well-monitored code
- Well-versed in software development and architecture, with a strong background in frontend technologies
- An expert in modern frontend development frameworks and languages, with a focus on scalability and maintainability
- A strong collaborator with great communication skills and is able to work effectively across teams
- Passionate for using technology to create intuitive tools that enhance user workflows and drive business insights
What the job involves
- As a Senior Software Engineer (Frontend) on the Roblox Operating Systems team, you will be responsible for driving engineering efforts for building and scaling a suite of applications and reusable components to empower other Robloxians in various roles such as People Operations, Talent Acquisition, Budgeting, Roadmapping, and Business Analytics!
- We envision an integrated platform with many applications and tools that streamlines processes while providing employees and leaders with the information they need to support the business
- This is a growing team at Roblox and we need a team member who can work with a high level of freedom and autonomy, advocate the best development practices and collaborate with outside vendors, and work with cross functional stakeholders and team members regularly
- Develop frontend architectures to enable other engineers to effectively and efficiently build applications
- Aid the strategy to grow the components and libraries necessary to empower other engineers in building the tools needed by our peers
- Author and review specifications for new features and improvements
- Lead other engineers by example and through technical direction as an individual contributor
- Become an expert on our technology stack and make sure we always build new components and applications the right way
- Collaborate with other teams within Roblox to make sure we are building products with a community approach
- Balance researching new technologies with a practical approach to work towards the research efforts into the Roblox products
