Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or relevant certification (CPA, FMVA, and other financial modeling certs.) preferred
- 2 to 5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or operations; some experience in public accounting (audit, financial advisory) is strongly preferred
- Experience with the typical start-up operating tech stack: accounting (QBO), payroll, accounts payable, spend management, Hubspot, etc
- Proven experience in financial analysis, reporting (US GAAP), and modeling
- Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
- Strong business acumen and the ability to understand and align financial and operational goals with overall business strategy

- Your contributions will directly influence Box’s profitability and scalability
- There will be a direct connection between your activities and the company’s success
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data, maintaining up-to-date financial records in our general ledger and other data platforms
- Conduct ongoing financial analysis to support business decisions
- Prepare and present detailed financial and operational reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual performance summaries
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying trends and variances
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business units, providing financial insights and guidance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and provide financial and operational support
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including department heads and external partners
- Assist in the efficient execution of operational processes, including assisting with People Operations and Office Operations processes
- Identify opportunities for improving financial processes and operational efficiency
- Implement best practices and streamline processes to enhance productivity and accuracy
- Lead initiatives to automate financial and business operations processes
- Assist in the preparation of business cases, financial models, and forecasts to inform strategic decisions
- Conduct scenario analysis and risk assessments to evaluate potential outcomes and impacts
- Provide actionable recommendations to senior management based on financial data and market trends
