Role
Who you are
- 8+ years of professional user research experience
- Past experience building a research practice a start-up environment
- Experience incorporating user research into Agile product development
- Experience researching consumer products
- A track record of leading comprehensive research with demonstrated business impact
- Solid working knowledge of the latest design tools and online research tools for recruiting, testing, etc
- An understanding of technical limitations and an ability to advocate for concepts cross-functionally
- Strong presentation and storytelling skills
- Familiarity with the creator experience and digital creative platforms

- Affinity with VSCO’s values and mission of supporting creators so they can make it
- Experience shaping creative communities and/or creative tools
- Familiarity with SQL and quantitative analysis
What the job involves
- VSCO is looking for a User Researcher Lead to develop and drive our user insights practice. You will work with partners across the company to uncover opportunities, develop actionable insights and foster a curious and empathetic approach to solution design
- As part of the Design & Research team, you will shape our research approach and contribute to the development of thoughtful experiences that impact millions of creators worldwide
- Work closely with Product, Product Design, and Marketing teams to align on strategy and hone our product vision and roadmap
- Identify gaps and areas of opportunity to help define what Research looks like at our organization
- Execute and oversee end-to-end research efforts, from requirement gathering, definition and planning, participant recruiting, execution, and synthesis, and analysis
- Conduct and collaborate on qualitative and quantitative investigations with a strategic application of research methods (ex. surveys, interviews, concept testing, usability testing, and diary studies)
- Ensure findings across the team are translated into relevant and actionable insights
- Communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across all levels of company to deepen our understanding and empathy for creators and their needs
- Manage our small Research team, define team goals and processes, and prioritize a project backlog
