Who you are
- University degree in Project Management, Information Systems and Technology Management, Computer Science or other relevant discipline, or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated experience working in infrastructure / technology businesses
- Internal and / or external customer management experience
- Proficient in MS Office applications including Microsoft PowerPoint
- Proficient in setting-up and coordinating on-line meetings Zoom or MS Teams
- Highly driven, self-motivated, and able to work unsupervised
- Takes ownership of a problem and sees it through to the end
- Strong influencing skills with attention to detail
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management and priority setting skills

Desirable
- Project Management Certification such as Prince2 or PMP
- Demonstrated experience in a project coordination or engineering role

What the job involves
- This role is responsible for supporting the Installation Project Managers in the delivery of projects, including departmental deliverables; taking on discrete packages of work to be delivered in conjunction with and on behalf of more experienced project managers and to take responsibility for, and mange small to medium value projects
- This position typically works under general supervision and direction of the Senior Installation Project Manager
- The role enables a route to Installation Project Manager for candidates who are looking to transfer from other disciplines
- Undertake core installation work activities with Cubic’s UK Rail and Transport for London customers with both remote and on-site working
- Assist with change control, including negotiation of project changes and variations
- Ensure that the goals and objectives are understood and agreed with the customer
- Manages assigned projects’ expectations, scope, risk and changes
- Coordinate with the Bids and Proposals, and Commercial teams, responses to assigned new opportunities and contract variation requests
- Coordinate assigned work packages and be the local point of contact with relevant engineers for tracking the delivery of development activities
- Track and report on projects and ensure that all work packages meet stated program targets and costs
- Serve as one of the primary contacts for customers to ensure updates on changes to priorities and any subsequent changes on delivery schedules are provided
- Maintain a good relationship with all internal and external stakeholders
- Contribute to the review of technical approach, feasibility and cost estimates for projects
- With the assistance of more senior project managers and the planning team, ensure resource availability for projects, in particular Production Materials and Installation Resources
- Assist the Commercial and Procurement teams with the management of key subcontracts
- Support the collation of cost models, reports, change orders and variations in conjunction with the Project Managers
- Prepare and distributes weekly and monthly reporting, tracking team and project metrics
- Ensure contractors compliance with HSE legislation and Health & Safety plan requirements
- Work to build a thorough understanding of the technical architectures and implementation methods required for installation projects
