Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent hands-on experience
- At least 2 years of experience in billing, AR, or collections. Bonus points if you’ve worked in SaaS or usage-based models
- Detail-oriented and analytical; you spot trends in spreadsheets most people miss
- Experience using accounting software and ERP systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for customer-facing interactions
- Analytical thinker with curiosity to continually improve processes while maintaining attention to detail
- Thrive in fast-changing environments
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
- Strong Excel/Google sheet skills; ability to work easily with large datasets
What the job involves
- You will be responsible for managing the company’s invoicing process, ensuring accurate and timely billing, and driving the collection of outstanding receivables
- This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical and communication skills to maintain positive customer relationships while ensuring consistent cash flow
- Prepare and issue accurate customer invoices in a timely manner and ensure billing aligns with contracts, purchase orders, and service agreements
- Maintain billing schedules for all contracts
- Monitor accounts receivable, initiate follow-ups, and be our “first line of defense” to ensure timely payments
- Collaborate cross-functionally (Deal Desk, Finance, Sales, Legal). You’ll be a connector!
- Provide weekly and monthly reporting on AR health, DSO, collections KPIs, and cash flow trends
- Contact customers to resolve payment delays and escalate collection issues to management when necessary
- Reconcile billings and collections to the general ledger and provide weekly reporting on collections status and outstanding balances
- Be an asset in our audit as we prepare documentation and respond to requests
- Assist in developing and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency in billing and collections. Automate, streamline, and shake things up!
- Ensure billing process complies with applicable sales & VAT tax regulations
Our take
Developers rely on open source code and apps in their day to day work, but when the provenance of the code is unknown this creates potential weaknesses that cybercriminals can exploit. Chainguard exists to build security into the coding supply chain by making it possible for companies to enforce security policies based on auditable signatures baked into the code, and by providing a security-first set of container images with no known vulnerabilities for cloud app developers.
In the wake of huge cyber attacks like the Log4j vulnerability and Solarwinds breach, software supply chain security has been an area of major focus for startups hoping to solve problems in this sector. However, most of these focus on scanning and detection of threats. Chainguard's approach comes from the other end of the process, focusing on building security into the software itself. It was built by former Google engineers aware of software developers existing workloads, so is designed to be easily installed and integrated into existing automation systems like Terraform.
Chainguard completed a Series C funding round led by Lightspeed Ventures in 2024, minting it as a new Unicorn on the cybersecurity scene. It is using this funding to expand its go-to-market internationally and expand its Chainguard Images product.
